THE VOLTRON THINKTANK MASTERPOST week of April 1st, 2017

Who are these people? @butteredonions, @bosstoaster, @ashinan, @mumblefox, and @velkynkarma are five Voltron fic writers who frequently combine to form fanfic and meta and shitposts Voltron.

What happened on April 1st? Each member of the ThinkTank opened their askbox to receive fic prompts. These were then delivered back to the fandom in the form of microfills over the next week.

Nothing else happened on April 1st? I’m sure I don’t know what you mean ;)

You guys switched icons and pretended to be each other. We Formed ThinkTank, excuse you.

What is this Masterpost? The downside of all five of us posting 5-20 fills (each) on the same day: SO MUCH FIC. Together we wrote a combined 27k of words! Rather than bombard our shared followers with multiple reblogs of the same (excellent) material, we have compiled this Masterpost so we can simply reblog them all at once.

I keep seeing you as part of a voltron think tank? What is that and how did you get into it?

:D I’m so glad you asked.

The Voltron Think Tank is a loose term that refers to a few of my Voltron fic writer friends. There’s @ashinan, @mumblefox, @bosstoaster, and @velkynkarma, plus me. It sort of - founded itself, I suppose? There was a period of time this last winter where we were all pretty heavily debating certain aspects of Voltron meta back and forth with each other on tumblr - are the Lions self-aware, what do we think about this aspect of Shiro, what about pineapple on pizza - very serious stuff. We were pretty busy, and people who follow all five of us at that time started getting into it too.

Someone dubbed us the ThinkTank; someone else asked us what Lions we’d each pilot; we had another anon pop in and link most of our fic together in a continuity theory. Someone else spawned an innocent question about crossovers between our fics. Next thing you know bada bing bada boom. Here we are.

Voltron ThinkTank! Sometimes we do writing challenges together. Sometimes we do meta. We’re actually all in a chat room together and do a lot of our continued writing there. Mostly we just goof off and enjoy each other and this little corner of fandom.

Ok so now it's been bugging me so I made a tentative timeline. Gravity in Everything Grace is Wasted Stunned & Stuttering Throne GoK* Last two chapters of Broken Bone* Beast* Something Good* Parasite* *these happen one after another like BAM BAM BAM, because A: trouble comes in 3s and B: I firmly believe Something Good is the eye before the storm of Parasite hits. And then the 5+1s I haven't mentioned are filler episodes scattered in between the between the meaty plotty goodness.

Trouble comes in threes, how very right you are. Hmmm. We need some serious fluff after Parasite. Anyone in the fluff department?

Hello, I'm currently working my way through the Voltron Thinktank from last year, and I just wanna say that this masterpost has absolutely made my day, I basically haven't stopped reading through it since like 4am this morning and my sleep deprived self is delighted by all these lovely fics. (I don't know if it's been pointed out already, but one of the links that should go to "Shiro, Matt | sick shiro" by bosstoaster leads to a Sheith minific instead.) I hope grad school is going okay! <3
