Todo un clásico…
Ojo con el volumen
Spent five to six hours on this only for it to look less like half of a heart and more like something I don't want to describe. I might have to give explanations in class.
Fav part of the piece is the back of the hand because, despite being the easiest thing to sculpt, I feel like it's the part that came out looking the best. I'd draw that. I might draw that.
The fingers came out a little too long because I tried to sculpt them using my own fingers' measures for reference. I made clay sausages and cut them into smaller sausages that I would later join with little balls that'd act as the fingers' joints, thus allowing me to bend them. Problem is, I cut them with my own fingers' joints included, so each finger measures the same as mine + two clay little balls.
I wanted to shape the hand like half of a heart so I could complete the heart using my own hands (hence why I used myself for reference), but uh. I bent the fingers a little too much so yeah</3 no coherent heart for me. I shall now cry myself to sleep/j
I'm fully aware that the thumb came out way too long for the same reason as the rest of the fingers did, but it's already 1am and I refuse to give up tonight's sleep just to shorten some little sausages.
I feel like I'm using a bit of an apathetic tone in this post but the truth is I had fun sculpting that!! And I had fun pointing out its deformities, too. It might be a beautiful piece of trash, but it's MY beautiful piece of trash and it's gonna get me a decent grade. Probably. I hope it does.
I didn't even realize I had spent the equivalent of an entire school day on it holy shit xD
Hopefully my next sculpture comes out better (and loves me more! I'd like my interactive pieces to be, uh, actually interactive...)
