Volunteer Journal Entry
I had an idea of what to expect as I did plenty of research before coming on this trip, I had to make sure I was doing my best work as this was an amazing cause for some amazing people. Building homes for those without, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and to be able to do it finally, I feel so gratified. I know it sounds odd, but it’s how I feel. Maybe after this I could do some more charity work, you know between all my classes and extra-curriculars. But I’ll make it work.
Though I got to learn a whole bunch of trades, I think building the walls were ones I enjoyed the most learning. I don’t think people realize how much work goes into building a house, the walls, the roof. Just everything. Learning these trades is definitely something vital and something I hope to use in the future.
