Gloom District Order Gala Dinner

The annual gala event takes place at Umbrage Manor every Spring, and this years event will be featured in the upcoming season 2 closing episode of my ongoing As Sims Go By video series (to be released in a couple weeks on my youtube channel).

Baron and Baroness of Gloom are hosting the event, and the guest list is very limited as each district order allows for maximum 8 members.They are invited to bring a spouse or other company, but as the event is annual, and some are member of multiple orders, not all will attend every year. For this event the hosts’ main heir, Lord Edward is missing because he is busy studying at University.

Not just a Baron and a Lord

Bud von Kaching is Baron of Gloom, a peerage he inherited about 40 years back, when his father died. The father, Esmond Ching, Lord of Mugger, had been contacted by the Royal Chamber as he was found to be the distant heir to the Gloom barony, but the old widowed man was said to be too fond of his nectar to even opening the letter. When he died, Bud got the barony and moved with his family from Sim City to Gloomville, while his sister, Paula Ching, got the Mugger peerage.

Malcolm Landgraab (pictured right) is known to most as a clever business man, but he is also Lord of Cacti. His father, Geoffrey (von Donnersmalt) Landgraab was Lord of Cacti.

These two men have built several strong connections over time. They are both members of the secret kartel, Ground Up, as featured in my As Sims Go By video series. But Malcolm is also husband of Bud’s only daughter, Aili. Mixing families means Malcolm’s sons are now in line of successors to the Gloom barony, as well as the Cacti peerage. Bud’s only son, Edward, will of course become the next Baron of Gloom, but this far he has not married and has no heir.
