BB's Vortex Games Weekend of April 13th-14th
Saturday 4/13, Blue vs. Alpine Strikers Red at Burgess Park in Menlo Park. Flashbacks to DrDad's time working in MP (and I'll just leave it at that LOL). Teams were well matched. Pretty awful ref hand ball call when BB took a ball to the face and it rolled onto his elbow.... in the box with only minutes left in the game. Other team took a free kick and scored. Fortunately, Randy made a goal and brought it to a tie 2-2.
Sunday 4/14, Blue vs. Santa Cruz Yellow at home. It was sunny, but So. Freaking. Windy. It's just wrong when you get windburned and sunburned and there's no snow nor skis involved. We were tied at the half 1-1. I missed most of the 2nd half because Sammy Kate needed to feed and didn't realize that we'd score another goal. Final score: 2-1.
White vs. MVLA Green immediately followed. All the Blue players wanted to stay and play- I don't think these boys ever get tired of soccer LOL. Again, teams were fairly well-matched with Blue players only subbing in sparingly. Coach Sennay's style is so different from Coach Derek's, something I (and the boys) are still getting used to. Keegan usually watches from the players' bench and listens avidly as Derek coaches the players. On this day, he left to go play with Anya and Mia (Vortex siblings) which surprised me until I realized that it's because Sennay is so quiet. Keegan was bored! LOL Final score 1-2.
This coming weekend is a quiet one for us: only one baseball game and three soccer games. Looking forward to the break!
