Have you seen the @audible commercial where the woman who works from home chooses to commute every morning just to get her read on? It inspired me. Not even joking, I was inspired by a commercial. Am I a child of the 80s or what? Anyway, last month I had so much to listen to (thank you #voxervixens!) that I simply couldn’t get anything done. I was riveted to my own and other’s self-growth talk, but I wasn’t doing enough to see the sun or aerate the soil. Then, one morning, while waiting for my son’s school bus 🚌, the Audible commercial came on again. I turned to my husband and said, “I have to commute to work!” Needless to say, he was as confused as the husband in the commercial. But ever since, I have had the same routine: send the guys off to school 🙋🏻♀️, plug my headphones 🎧 in and walk — sometimes with a destination (today was @traderjoes), sometimes just a loop. Yesterday was my first challenge. It was raining 🌧 as it was today. I stood at the door and said, “Maybe I shouldn’t go in the rain...” I had a big day “at work” ahead and had gotten used to the commute being my transition from mom to #bossmom. I realized, there’s pretty much no boss in the world that wants to hear, “I can’t commute today because it’s raining!” And I realized I am one of those bosses! I went for my commute and had an awesome day. Today I did the same and rewarded myself with pink flowers 🌸 to combat the gray skies. I 💞 Gerbera Daisies! It’s been a wonderful new routine, even on these cold February mornings, but I look forward to watching every stage of the Spring growth this year on #statenislandgreenway. #lovemycommute How do you feel about your commute to work? How do you fill your cup while on the road and how do you reward yourself when making the big (even when they seem little) changes you need for your own #selfcare? https://www.instagram.com/p/B8MGvBQJbrr/?igshid=1ig7uxfty9cti
