Yusaku is going to have a bad time if or when he loses based on his unresolved PTSD.

Yeah, that’s another thing. I know I’ve been gunning to see Playmaker lose because I don’t want him to be as invincible as Yami/Judai/Yusei, but. Yusaku might actually be triggered by losing.

And I only say “might” because, he could theoretically resolve his issues before then if his first loss is in, say, episode 50. But we know he’s had nightmares of what would happen when he lost.

And think back to what Ai said in episode 2, regarding speed duels. 

This may be what the writers were getting at by “flashbacks” and “mental damage”. 

I mean, really let that sink in. There’s been some confusion over this line, and I’m… really starting to think this may be it. Of course, Ai didn’t know about Yusaku’s past when he said this, so this warning could apply to anyone—and not all the characters have PTSD. But concerning Playmaker specifically, this may be how it manifests: by being triggered. By mentally going back to his time in captivity. And maybe even having a break with reality altogether.

I was wondering if you heard that Vrains has changed directors?

So indeed, Vrains has changed directors as of episode 14. Our new director is now Asano Katsuya.

Unlike Hosoda—who has a wealth of experience—Asano is the new kid on the block. Though he’s done some work as an animation director, he’s never worked as the director before. 

This can be good or bad. The director is mostly responsible for the aesthetics of the show, and as YGO Organization notes, the designs for episode 14 were more diverse than what we saw episodes 1-13. We got a lot of new shots today.

But to be fair, these are shots that we may have gotten regardless. What’s most notable are the changes in Link Vrains. The digital city is now has a green overcast, instead of the gray we’ve been getting. The setting practically glows. 

But the craziest of them all? We finally got NEW LINK SUMMONING ANIMATION:

These are all very promising signs for Director Asano. So I’m not too worried ^^

So in GX, Judai and Yubel fused souls.

In Zexal, Yuma and Astral could… fuse temporarily? Overlay, in a sense? (From what I gather; I haven’t watched it yet.)

But my point is, you know what this probably means.

Do you think Aoi in her brother's flashbacks was the same age as Yusaku in his child flashback?

I would say so.

Tiny!Aoi is tiny. She’s barely up to her mother’s waistline. And she’s certainly comparable to baby!Yusaku.

If Yusaku is really a Predatorshipping child then I'm glad that he seemingly takes more after his mother. Cause if he were sadistic just like his father it would be too creepy.

Thank the sweet lord that he did. 

Like his honored mother, Yusaku is aloof, has no sense of humor, and has a strong thirst for vengeance. He, too, treats 99% of duels like they’re life-or-death battles. And like Serena, I’m sure part of Yusaku’s development is going to involve learning to love dueling again. 

Now, compare this to his treasured father:

Unlike this motherfucker right here, Yusaku does not take pleasure in the misery of other people, nor do I think he would particularly enjoy locking people into cards. Those creepy faces? No thanks—it’s not like he wants to give them actual nightmares. And tbh, fuck plants?? Yusaku will take computers over plants any day thankyouverymuch.

Don't know about you but I laughed so hard at Yuusaku's face when Kusanagi and Ai-chan were teasing him about not being able to talk to girls. And then the moment when he said he doesn't like picking up girls lmao. Is it safe to assume that our handsome boy is actually gay/bi with strong male preference?

He looked kind of adorable here?? Omg Yusaku’s actually capable of feeling bashful I never thought I’d see the day.

And then, yes, there’s the scene where Yusaku and Ignis have this glorious exchange:

i personally still think Yusaku is bi as fuck. But even if he does grow to ‘like-like’ Aoi, lol that doesn’t mean he can’t have a strong preference for guys.
