See, now I want them to meet. They've probably met before, with Nuvru being a former Marauder :smirk: BUT IT'S ABOUT TO GET SAD
Vranai // Sith Marauder + All that glitters is not gold || Nuvru // Darkside Jedi Sentinel + Third time's the charm
Running from the Empire isn't as easy as anyone would ever dare embellish it to be.
Running to the Empire was proving to be every bit as grueling a job.
There was a point where the crushing weight from being aware of Baras' vast (or so he proclaimed) knowledge of everything that was, is, and will be. Nuvru learned to get over it, given that she stopped caring about him long ago. Had he wanted her dead, he would have tried a little bit harder than just abandoning her after handing her a dead-end mission as an Acolyte. Vranai wasn't so lucky, and was starting to feel their resolve buckling. Making decisions that weren't right to him, to the other Lords. But they were right to themself. Wasn't being a Sith all about being selfish? So why was everyone suddenly preaching the "greater good of the Empire?"
Scheduled rains cascaded down around the two Zabraks, masking the tears on Vranai's face. Their eyes met and they sobbed again, falling into Nuvru's arms. "It's alright," she tried to comfort, swallowing down that residual anger at the entire concept of Darth Baras. "Push through. Not to sound like a Jedi or anything, but have faith in your path. You're doing things that Baras himself can't do, and you know it. You're stronger than he is. Play your cards just as Baras claims he's playing his. And soon enough you'll have his head."
They sniffled and nestled their face deeper in the other's shoulder, careful of their horns. The silver jewelry twinkled in the dim light. "I'll try, Nuvru. How'd you get out?"
"Told him to go fuck himself. Send an army after me if he wanted to but they'd all be ashes." she said in a hum. "I know what you're going to ask, and my advice is to not try it. Took me only three tries before he gave up."
"Only three?"
"I know right! All that anger he's feeding you, that frustration? It'll be his downfall. Mark my words."
