ㅤ►ㅤsadism is defined as deriving enjoyment from inflicting pain on others. while vulneroists enjoy inflicting bodily damage, they are uninterested or even become distressed at the idea of inflicting pain on their partners, hence the fantasy aspect. it's also possible for vulneroists to seek out pain hyposensitive partners. people tend to assume that injury and pain are synonymous, but for some people with certain conditions the two are not always mutually inclusive, autism springs to mind. additionally, sadism can have a sexual connotation depending on how it's being used. vulneroism is not inherently sexual
with such a massive gap between sadism and vulneroism it's understandable that there needs to be a different community for vulneroists altogether. to the uninformed vulnerspec identities may seem redundant but the distinction is necessary as vulneroism is by definition incompatible with the definition of sadism
