Without a phone or computer, it was pretty hard for Isabel to get in touch with anyone in this day and age, so pre-made plans needed to be stuck to for her, especially if they hadn’t spoken to that person between planning and meeting.
And that’s what it was like with Hanji. How they met was almost a blur to Izzy now, they’d clicked and became good friends, Hanji became someone Izzy could admire and look up to, someone she could confide in. And they’d planned to meet in the park during the professor’s lunch break after a few weeks on not seeing each other.
Izzy stayed at the pond, her favourite place in the park, up a tree and dangling on the branch that reached parallel above the water. She knew Hanji would look for her at the pond, so she kept her green eyes alert, finally seeing her friend and throwing an acorn at her back, “Hey Han” the woman called and patted the branch beside her, more out of curiosity on whether or not she would climb up onto it.
