Okay, since you're asking and I love your work - you should totally Rumbelle "The Decoy Bride" film It's one of my favorite films and I think it's perfect for Rumple and Belle. :)
Rumford Gold was determined to marry Cora Mills. It wasn’t about love, exactly, which in his opinion was a good thing. Cora and himself had more than “infatuation”, they had similar personalities, shared interests, the same disregard for ethical dilemmas and, what was most important, the same expectations about their marriage: it would be a partnership, albeit a passionate one.
Attempts to tie the knot with any semblance of privacy where impossible for two people of such high profile: Cora was the widower of some English aristocrat or the other and Gold was a well-known figure amongst the Wall Street crowd. And privacy was the one thing Cora demanded. There was something sad, she maintained, about the whole affair of getting married in a church at her age. And since a non-wedding church was out of the question- Gold was not the religious sort but he was pretty samn sure his aunties would raise from the grave and chase him down if he didn’t have a church wedding- something had to be done.
That something turned out to be fleeing to his birthplace, some little lost village on the edge of nowhere, Scotland. But when the paparazzi quickly followed, like a flock of birds of prey, making Cora flee, some scheming was needed. It was Neal who came up with the idea of staging a fake wedding, complete with a fake bride.
There was a shortage of female candidates in the tiny village, though apparently there was an actual single female of roughly Cora’s height visiting her father. Moe French rung no bells for Gold, but the mention of his late wife’s name did... Colette McAllister had been his first crush as a boy, a woman whose beauty and kindness had made such an impression on him that he was sure she couldn’t have possibly been real. Thankfully Moe French was... less gifted in the looks and temperament department, which would mean he would be quite safe with his daughter.
Turned out that genetics didn’t quite work the way he thought it did, because Belle French was, if possible, more beautiful than her mother. And nosey, stupidly rash, annoyingly optimistic and frankly the worst possible person to pass as Cora Mills on the entire planet.
But he was stuck with her all the same, wearing a wedding dress and full of quietly-judging when she realized he didn’t believe in love and was getting married.
Insufferable wretch.
AN: I thought about making it so that it was the decoy groom...
vulpineknight said: *raises hand* I’ll go in with an apartment with you after college….I mean, providing we both can find work….I’d do the thing. (P.S. Those are not cons, you are lovely to live with.) :)
That would be idea but we would both have to find a place that appeals to us both. Especially since you would have to stay teaching in the great northern state, yes?
Brittany and I had dinner tonight
She made cheesy chicken and noodles.
It was delicious.
And more food than I've eaten in about two weeks.
vulpineknight is a gem.
Me: That Hyundai commercial is more romantic than 50 Shades of Grey
Brittany: The backs of my eyelids are more romantic than 50 Shades of Grey
I need to schedule writing time.
vulpineknight we should have creative habit time. angrysquidman wants to join in too. Let's do this. Let's be super productive this semester.
