Mizuta Masahide (水田 正秀?, 1657–1723) was a seventeenth-century (Edo period) Japanese poet and samurai who studied under Matsuo Bashō. 

i saw it on the corkboard in my public defender’s office when i went to jail after trying to stab someone i thought was possessed by a demon. i thought it was very appropriate.
