       Everyone else is occupied with the others who were rescued on the mission, namely Peeta. After the initial rush of excitement from their success, however, there are still questions to be answered. They went in to rescue three, but another was added to the list -- a familiar face, a known rebel, a prisoner.         As with the others, he had been placed in medical care immediately, but under his unique circumstances, he was isolated from the rest. Alliance unknown, they wanted to take caution -- but according to Coin, he could be useful. She was convinced he knew something. Gale wasn’t so certain; he looked like something the Capitol chewed up and spit out, not a hostage after all.         He’s got a tight schedule, but he’s supposed to use some of that time to try and get some words out of him. If he does have information, it’d probably be life saving. But if he’s anything like Peeta and the others, well... He closes the door behind him and pulls up a chair but doesn’t sit, just gripping the back of the seat as he stares over at their guest. 

       “You ready to talk?”

Lykke had no questions--she knew there were no questions, and worse, no answers to revoke the horrors of receiving such scars. So, rather than ask more, she leaned her head down  and bussed her brow over his hair like a wolf with a pup before taking the seat beside him on the bed.  “I would rend this ruari apart for you,” she said quietly. 

Her own scars itched beneath the scarves that hid them, her hair  prickled over the skin of her neck and face where more scars were hidden.  She had done her best to hide them  from this young shifter, but now she felt as though she had lied to him.

Slowly, she curled her fingers through her hair and tucked it behind her ear, then let it slide back over her shoulder to reveal the burns that traveled down the side of her face, and her neck. He did not need to see the rest, it would be  obvious that they traveled down the rest of her body. 

“I know what it is to carry such marks,” she told him. “To bear their story for  years to come, even after leaving their cause long and far behind...” Without meeting his eyes, she turned her face  toward him. “You will be safe with me. As long as you would have me.”

The palms of her hands were beginning to clam up as she approached the silver entrance before her. She wanted to assist the people of District 13 as much as she could which APPARENTLY meant putting herself in the rooms of those who were hijacked to help revive memories. Peeta had r e m e m b e r e d her which was why she was then assigned to Fox, a boy who’s mind was lost somewhere in the darkness of the Capitol. Even though he was a stranger she truly believed she could HELP him. 

Her heart beat roughly into her ribcage as she heard the beep that allowed her to open the door. With a shaking hand she pushed open that metal plate that held her back from the boy. Upon entering she examined his appearance, trying to run through everything they’d told her about him. Although, all she was able to say was something that she didn’t consider to be FOOLISH until after it’d fall out.

❝ Hello lost boy... I am Delly Cartwright. Have you ever been told that you have lovely feet? ❞

( You are an idiot, did you honestly just tell that poor boy that he had nice FEET? You’re already failing at this job. )

❝ That... Didn’t sound right. I just meant that... My father, he was a shoemaker and I’ve just come to notice SILLY thing like someone’s feet. ❞

Delly had been known for the LIGHT she shined throughout her district. Smiles were a hard thing to come by in twelve, she knew that more than anybody. Sometime as  s i m p l e  as a grin meant much more to people. Joy was a rarity in this beaten down place. It seemed as though even the buildings frowned and the skies cried above them. Pain, loss, emptiness. It all POURED out into the people of District 12. 

Today was no different. A haze of unhappiness blanketed the people as they walked through the streets. Even with that she continued to smile, trying her best to be something more in this small, unfortunate place. A woman caught her eye. Her hair greying, her face dirtied, and beginning to wrinkle though she didn’t seem to look more than 20. This district aged people, it was no EASY area to survive. Delly’s attention was elsewhere as she turned a corner, her body colliding with that of another person.

Her eyes shot upwards, only to find someone a bit PECULIAR. He appeared to be nothing like the others that were in her district. This immediately gave her the idea that he must be visiting from the Capitol. With her soft fingertips she tucked her curly, blonde hair behind her ear while still holding onto her smile.

❝ Excuse me. ❞

After a brief pause and another examination of him she spoke again, this time with a bit of excitement in her voice.

❝ Are you from the CAPITOL?  Is it as lovely there as they say? It seems wonderful. Oh, I’m Delly, by the way. Your shoes are spectacular. My father is the shoemaker here. ❞
