A decisive shake of the head. "Don't overthink it; I'm only kiddin'." And of course that's the truth. As far as he's concerned, it's better to have broken the ice poorly than not at all. Hands unfolding from behind his back-- one landing on his hip, the other brought forward to gesture at Sabre's weapon of choice-- Fox carries right on ahead, not one to be deterred by a sour attitude.
"I don't have any swords. Or... magic tricks. It's gonna have to be hand-to-hand or nothin', buddy-- so go set that thing down somewhere safe." Though he'd still like to see how Sabre fights with that sword, as the only bladed weapon he's really used more than once is a rapier-- there's a time and a place for everything.
❝ you think you can scare me? ❞
Tilo looked up at the fox.
To be honest, —Tilo didn’t think of himself as very scary for obvious reasons.
❝ ⸻Maybe with a lay that tells a tale. ❞ Tilo pulled out his lute from behind his back. He’d give Sabre his best campfire spook!
❝ If you’ll sit down and humor me. I can give it a minstrel’s best go. ❞ He’d play a song for Sabre that would keep the vulpine up at night. He might even get Sabre to spare a hard-working minstrel some patronage (AKA: he could make money off the fox boy). if his lay did well enough to sway the fox’s emotions.
