Weighing In: The entrepreneurs
On a staircase near my work sits a set of scales and a coin box. While the initiative is there, I'm just not sure how many people want to pay to find out how heavy they are.
This, on the other hand, is freaking awesome. It's a VW combie and they've definitely pimped their ride. You can find these combies all the way up Sukhumvit Soi 11 - they park on the side of the road (this one on the footpath) and they owners pay money to the police to park up for the night. The top flips up and the windows fold down to make a bar. They've strung the place with all kinds of lights and disco balls and they were pumping out some awful R'n'B (I just don't get it), but in their defence, they did play Mark Morrison's Return of the Mack. In the picture, the person's hands and drink are resting on the folded down side window and at the back left is a bar made from the rear window. The roof went up and the menu dangled down, so we parked up and ordered some margaritas.
