So after re-reading the chapter where Alex grabs Nic's hands: before that, when Nic knocks the syringe (?) out of Theo's hand, do you think it's because he wants Theo to be able to take the samples he initially wanted to take, or because Nic thought that he might actually (finally) die... and since Worick had told him as a kid his contract entailed living painfully until his death? Just would like to hear your thoughts!
Nic points at Yang after knocking the syringe out of Theo’s hand. I think he’s telling him to take care of Yang and stop worrying about him. I do think he wanted Theo to be able to get the samples, too, but I don’t think he was hoping to die just yet. I feel like it was him saying “I’ve got this. Take care of the kid. He needs you more than I do.”
