character portraits for my portfolio of my meridell/brightvale pets :3
realizing how much old art i've forgotten to slap up on here lol. this is Vycross, he's a knight from Meridell and he haaaaaates Jeran's pussy
for my guild's monthly event recently i challenged myself to draw some of my characters in my best attempt at canon neopets style, so here's Typhestra, Pyvel, and Vycross
9, 12, 25 for miruna and belleia and vycross!! 💖💖
Ahh thank you krys!!!
9. Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your OC?
🌕 Miruna- I have a whole playlist for my girl Miruna, but if I had to pick a specific lyric it would be "I have loved/ I have lost/ I am the archer" from The Archer by Greta Van Fleet. (It was so good live in concert)
🔮Bellaia also has a lot of songs in the King of Seasons playlist. For her I'll choose "Devil he dragged me down/ Pomegranate seeds and a flower crown/ Devil he dragged me down from Pomegranate Seeds by Julian Moon (also a good Namesake song for you Krys)
🌸 Vycross fits the lyrics: Brave and beat them on my own/ Yet I'm helpless by the river from The Humbling River by Pucifer. It showcases his struggle for inner peace as he speaks to his divine.
12. Is your OC self destructive? In what ways?
🌕 Miruna is actually the least self destructive of these three. But there are some dark clouds on the horizon for Miruna. She's trying to undo the messes her previous husband caused and make sure a bad ending in her vision doesn't come to pass.
🔮Bellaia is self destructive by hiding her feelings and manipulating people to keep herself safe.
🌸 Vycross is incredibly self destructive. When we first meet him in Prince of Petals he is at rock bottom, has a shovel and is prepared to dig. He isolates himself and buries his emotions. He's a coward and is in denial that the Prince of Petals is a threat.
25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?
🌕 I will do my best to narrow Miruna's answer down to one thing and not just incoherent babbling. I love her potential. She is a reborn and has few memories of her life before she died. So she has the opportunity to make a new path for herself as she travels with her friends and scary undead paladin boyfriend. (Their relationship is something else I could yap about for hours) She is getting more glimpses of the past, but there's a wide world of possibility for her.
🔮 It's so hard to pick just one thing for Bellaia. I already answered for her creativity, so I'll pick another thing I love about her. (There's a lot) I love her story and her journey throughout the story of King of Seasons. In the first book alone, she grows so much, and it's been so fun to write.
🌸 I really love the relationship Vycross has with his divine, the Lady of Fields and Flowers. He's been a worshipper of her for a very long time since she founded the monastery he is the High Speaker of. Now she's marked him as her chosen and he is tasked with upholding her tenants as he travels around Ikiamund dealing the fae princes.
LUNAR, NOVA and ORION for Bellaia and Vycross?
Thank you so much for the ask!! I love getting the chance to talk about Bellaia and Vycross. Their characters actually kicked off the entire idea of King of Seasons
LUNAR - How often do they get lost in thought?
Bellaia only gets lost in thought when she is working on a project or is sketching up a design for a new dress. She takes her craft of dress making and tailoring very seriously.
Vycross prides himself on being observant and aware. It's kept him and the people of the monastery he's in charge of alive. The only time he gets lost in thought is when his paranoia gets the best of him. His father's presence is creeping closer to his home, and he knows he's the only one who can stop it. Not the mention the raids by the Springwood bandits place his people under attack.
NOVA - How is their relationship with their parents?
Bellaia never knew her father growing up, but she was raised by her mother and her maternal grandparents. Her family instilled her love of learning and knowledge, and her mother taught her how to sew. When she was 8, her grandparents left for their pilgrimage to find the lost Cosmic tree, and she and her mother left to try to find her father and explain Bellaia's strange magic. As they journeyed deeper into the Northern Wynds, they were separated when Joutnn attacked the traveling party. Bellaia has not seen her mother since, but she hopes she is safe somewhere out there.
Vycross despises his father, the Prince of Petals, the fae prince of the Spring court. He hates his father's cruelty, his curse of vines slowly encircling his body, and how his father has been terrorizing the roads leading up to the monastery Vycross calls home. He recalls his mother risking her life and losing it to help him to escape the Prince's court.
ORION - Who/what do they go to for comfort?
Bellaia has few people she can turn to for comfort. Her mentor figure back in her old home as well as her former fiancé were there for her for comfort. Now she has her friendship with Charithi to lean on as well as her art and sewing.
For Vycross the pressures of being high speaker of the monastery weigh heavily on him. The others obey his commands, but he is not well liked due to his reclusive nature and paranoia. He turns to the one person more reclusive than he is to talk, Ruethai Penyang. Ruethai keeps to herself, but she is willing to lend a listening ear to Vycross and the two have formed a friendship. He feels safe to talk about the issues troubling him and she feels safe to tell him about her past.
Thank you again! These asks were from the night sky addition of OC asks.
wisteria, lily, and orchid for solanine and vycross!
Ah the half fae siblings an excellent choice. Thank you for the ask!
💐Wisteria: Does your OC have a skill they'd like to learn? What is stopping them?
Solanine: She wants to utilize her resurrection magic to its fullest extent, but she needs the right specimens only found in the Prince of Petals, her father's, domain
Vycross: He wants to learn how to stop his father's plant creatures and how to improve his leadership. He is isolated in the Monastery of the Justicia due to his own cowardice and fear
💐Lily: What is your OC's love language?
Solanine: Words of affirmation and worshipful devotion
Vycross: Words of affirmation (and also peaceful silence since he has a hectic job as High Speaker)
💐Orchid: What is your OC's biggest fear?
Solanine: Solanine fears failing The Deadly Spine, her lord, object of worship, and lover in the mission he has given her
Vycross: Becoming like his father, the Prince of Petals and being unable to stop something happening to the Monastery of the Justicia
Delayed nodules (lumpy filler reaction) are really not that uncommon . . 🔬Skin Science: Immunological reaction. Delayed reactions can be seen with infections such as viral (common cold), bacterial & rarely mycobacterial (TB). These reactions are not directly caused by infections, they are a by-product of the immune system . . 💉Skin Science: Delayed nodular reactions are different from biofilm- infection. Essentially antibody mediated immune reaction. Antibodies recognise part of the occult infection, or small RNA segment of the immunization; ‘spike’ protein in Covid’s case. Immune system also recognises part of the exogenous HA (filler) structure🦠 . . 🖼Clinical presentation: As the name suggests, it is delayed. Usually >4 wks post filler. Global swelling where fillers are injected. I have seen cases where fillers have migrated. An example from the buccal fat pad (NL folds) to the temples . . 👍🏻Mx: I use to investigate all cases but it is so common, I exclude other causes clinically. MRI just confirms the location, PCR is negative. Settles with pred, antihistamines. I cover with doxy for a few weeks, as it has anti-inflammatory effects. True delayed nodules are transient, they do not require hyalase in the majority of cases . . 👀Prediction: Gonna be a HUGE explosion in cases next year. Why? Because en-mass vaccinations have not occurred since #Smallpox. This will be a great study because the variables are somewhat known. Within the next 3-6 months we will see the percentages of different brands - #Juvederm vs #restylane vs #belotero, vs Teoxane & others. My bet? Probably #Vycross fillers will be no. 1, followed by the rest. Most of the cases I see are from Juve, acknowledging in Oz this is an over-representation of the filler market. DM me if injectors would like to be involved in a multi-center study. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to clear the cards as to the true frequency of delayed nodules with different fillers. . 💩🧻Oh... Holy Cr*P I just remembered I got 9ml of Juvederm in my face 😎Dr Davin Lim Brisbane🇦🇺 #dermalfillers #cosmeticfillers #russianlips for free with every #CovidVaccine #antivaccine#vaxxed (at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJVKqTYjx8r/?igshid=dnvxc3c9wrcn
Dermal filler reactions are not uncommon . . 🙄Many causes of ‘nodules’- everything from product, through to transient nodules (esp with #vycross - Juvederm fillers), biofilm, granulomas, and others. Rare causes of lip granulomas should be considered including granulomatous cheilitis (usually more diffuse in presentation) . . 👀This patient was injected with a filler known as HYAFILIA grand, supposedly a #hyaluronicacid filler. Treatment was with a beautician who imported the product from an unknown supplier. I understand that this is a Korean product, sold mainly on the internet, it has a bad reputation as one that causes persistent and resistant nodules . . 👉This product is Hyalase resistant (at least this batch). Previous experience with this filler reaction was also resistant to ILCS - CS injections, responsive only to 5FU . . 🔪I treated this with incisions, CS injections & systemic anti-inflammatories over a period of 3 weeks. Clinically all gone . . 👉Question is - when would you re-inject these lips? I personally won’t touch them for another 6 months. I am sure histologically some Hyafilia is still there, potentially giving re-activation with another HA product? . . Comment below👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 . 😎Davin Lim Dermo, Brisbane.
