Conquerors

Every year the magical land of Ishnon holds the "Tournament of Conquerors" to determine the Head Elites of its various regions. Fire-wielder, Rein enters hoping to overthrow the ruler and founder of the tournament, Vyka, who is a hero to some and an evil despot to others, by following the very might-is-right rules put in place to do so.

I've finally posted my original webcomic!

This is for Webtoon's "Call to Action" contest, with the top 3 winners' comics becoming Webtoon Originals!

A good chunk of the scoring is audience engagement, so I could really use some help with boosting this comic! Please like, share, subscribe, comment etc if you can!

Sometimes when I create fight scenes or comics I’m not always sure of the layout or how certain actions connect to each other, so what I do is create a large action pose doodle dump like this and slowly build the scene around that. It helps me get loose with things and feel less pressure than if I just went into making the page

I’ll be posting wips and such of the comic throughout the week in hopes of increasing my “audience engagement” and having a better chance of winning (seriously, if I do my job would literally be making comics for a living and I’d love that!)

The contest only allows us to submit one chapter for the contest. I created mine as a pilot of sorts since I’m not sure if I’ll actually continue the comic if I don’t win (since it’d be nice to be paid to do an original comic). Either way, we needed a thumbnail picture for the chapter, so I took it from a section of the comic. Sorry it shows up so grainy here, so I posted the original sketchwork alongside it haha

I suppose this could function as cover art for my comic. Again, I went lineless for some reason. I also considered doing a glow around the fire-hair, but the one I submitted I left the glow effect out. I think both that and the decision to use no lineart makes the colors come out very crisp. I’m very happy with how this came out

So glad you were interested in the project teasers! Thank you! Also, I can give you more than just hints now! It is an original comic I'm creating. Its name is "Conquerors":

I'm creating this comic for Webtoon's "Call to Action" contest, which is a contest to create an action-packed fight scene! The top 3 comics in the contest will become Webtoons Originals, so I'm suuuuper hoping to win this one, so I can actually bring you guys an original comic!

The two characters involved are the fire-user, Rein...

...who is fighting Vyka...

...over control for the magical world of Ishnon. And that's as vague and simplistic as I can be about the plot for now ;3
