Verge Terre Haute Kicks Off
The first kick off meeting for Verge Terre Haute happened last week and we are happy to report it was a resounding success.
About 25 students, entrepreneurs, community leaders and tech enthusiasts joined us for great food, drinks and learning.
The evening started off with a short networking opportunity until about 6:15 when Bryan Jackson took the stage to introduce Alec Synnestvedt. Alec is the Executive Director of Verge and took a few minutes to tell the audience about Verge, it's roots and big things this platform has done.
Following this we then were able to get a great startup company from Denver called Appic discuss their beginnings and learning in creating and developing an app for the iPad. A little history on Appic, this app was chosen by Steve Jobs as one of the first 10 apps to be suggested for the iPad upon it's launch. The app is designed to profile "behind the scenes" images from events to enhance the event experience. The guys gave a super presentation and learning was done by both the audience and the panel members.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Alec and then adjourned.
Huge thanks to David Dubree, David Hunt, Shelley Klingerman and Bryan Jackson for making this event happen and to all the participants of our first meeting.
We welcome anybody in the Wabash Valley to join us on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Clabber Girl from 5:30 - 7:00 for food, drinks and great discussion on Tech and Startup activity in and around the Wabash Valley.
