THE MATRIX (1999)
Matthew Fox - Speed Racer (2008)
The Matrix Reloaded (2003) The Wachowskis
I don't care what anyone says.. I like the Wachowskis after transition more than before.. and they certainly look happier!
Speed Racer hits 4K UHD for the first time May 19 with HDR and new bonus features from the Wachowskis. A cult classic finally gets the upgrade it deserves. #SpeedRacer
Dodge this... The Matrix on 35mm film
my brain is a blessing and a curse, a blurse, if you will
Kojima and The Wachowskis are the same in that they both love making stories that communicate pretty interesting ideas especially for the time period in which they were made but really the media they make exists to scratch an itch for what they consider "cool" so they have long monologues interspersed with the coolest setpieces you've ever seen
Thing is that Kojima's monologues are all about how war is evil and you need to live for yourself and his setpieces contradict that and are all about how war is actually incredibly sexy and giant robots that can destroy the world are cool as shit, while the Wachowskis' monologues are all about how social constructs can be completely ignored to live for yourself and their setpieces reinforce that and are all about how The Right Thing To Do is to murder cops by the score while dressed for an industrial dance party and to fuck like neanderthals in a literal cave
