Happily Ever After | Perfect World Series
(Warning: This is a series I am doing. It's all about things being normal and like secrets null and void. So this fluffy and cute! There will be more leading up to this one, but this is the one that inspired me. Enjoy!)
“Daddy?” came a little boys voice from the doorway. Mason and Lacey looked over to see their son standing there, his bow tie undone. The six year old looked up with puppy dog eyes. “Help please. I wanna look good for Uncle Dean’s wedding.” Mason smiled and knelt down to Jude and did his bow tie, lavender like his own.
“You look very handsome.” Mason said. Jude looked up at his parents and had a huge smile on his face. Lacey smiled and walked over to them. She knelt down, the skirt of her own lavender bridesmaid dress pooling around her, hiding her legs completely.
“My two handsome men.” She said. She then furrowed her brows looking at them. She reached over and fixed Jude’s bow tie. “And your father still can’t tie a bow tie, or a regular tie, straight.” She then straightened out Mason’s. “He never could. I fixed his at the altar on our wedding day.” Mason leaned down and kissed her. Jude bounced and ran at them, hugging his parents, toppling all three to the ground.
“Alright.” Mason said sitting up. “Come on bud. Lets go to your Mom’s car.” Jude nodded and got running down the stairs. Mason stood and held his hand out to help his wife up. The couple went down stairs. “Lets get you to Emma’s.” He said. Lacey smiled and climbed into the car. Jude already buckled himself in. The Andersons then drove down to Emma’s place. Mason dropped Lacey off picking up Finn and all the corsages for the men that matched the women’s bouquets. Finn climbed into the passenger seat of the car that Lacey had just vacated. He waved slightly nervously at the father and son in the car as Mason pulled out of the driveway, though there was no reason for him to be considering he was soon to be brother-in-law's with mason and was already considered an uncle to Jude, and down to where the cerement was to be held. The three walked in to see Dean moving around, almost jittery and nervous himself, which was a first. Mason walked over to him and patted his shoulder. He fixed the white bow tie.
"Uncle Dean! We get flowers!" Jude said bouncing. Mason laughed and pinned the light lavender, almost white, rose to his jacket. It was to Match Ashlyn's bouquet. Mason handed Dean the rose that matched what Emma's bouquet was to be. He pinned his own on and Finn did the same as they were to match Lacey and Faith's bouquets.
“Relax man.” Mason said putting a hand on Dean's shoulder. “Trust me. Once you see her walking down the aisle, you’re going to forget about all your jitters. Just focus on her.” Dean smiled and nodded. Mason turned to Jude, who was shifting on his feet, getting bored. “Hey bud, there’s a little girl who’s walking with you. You know your cousin Ashlyn.” He was talking about Faith and Finn’s daughter. She was only two. Jude nodded. “Well she’s gonna rely on you to help her get all the way down and not too distracted. Can you do that?” Jude nodded.
“Then after this boring nish, there’s going to be a fun party, with food and dancing.” Dean told his nephew. Jude smiled. “First we gotta do this thing with tons of talking and stuff. It's really boring honestly, I'd prefer skipping it myself and just go to the party. But the party is like a reward for all this boring nish. Then we get pictures taken. The off to the party.” Dean paused. “Did I mention we ride in a limo?” Jude started bouncing. The music started. Dean and Mason stood up. “I’m ready.” He said after a deep breath and a nod. Dean headed out before the bridal party walked out. His mother caught his arm and walked with him to the alter and the minister. At the end, she kissed his cheek. Soon out came Finn, holding on to Faiths arm as they walked down, splitting at the end, going to the respective sides. Next came Mason and Lacey, arm in arm. The two split, mason taking his place next to Dean. Jude walked down, holding on to little Ashlyn’s hand. He then walked her over to her mom and Faith took her hand and he stood next to Finn. Everyone stood and turned, looking at the doors as Emma came down and into the garden.
“Focus on her.” Mason whispered. Dean would be lying if he said the older mans words didn't comfort him. He watch as Emma, so beautiful, came towards him, slowly. He reveled in the beauty of her gown and the glow around her. Her adoptive father held her arm as the came down and then handed Dean her hand when the got to him. He greatly accepted. He barely paid any attention during the ceremony. He was trapped by her beauty. Mason had been right. His attention was grabbed as the were told for the vows. The rings were asked and Jude brought them over. He was told to start.
“Uhm, wow. Where do I begin? I know I was told I should write this down, by both you and Mason, but Em, you know me and when have I ever stuck to a plan, any plan?” Emma ended up laughing a bit and it made his heart leap. “Well, Em, I've… Well I've been in love with you for quite some time now. Actually, for as long as I've know you. You were my childhood to my high school crush. I always wanted you, but I never thought I was good enough for you. It wasn't until a good friend of mine, who happens to be right behind me, told me that if I didn't go and take the chance, I might not ever actually get the chance. So thanks to that lunk over there, I took the chance and here we are today. Our lives are full of chances and we should take more chances. And I promise you that I will be spending every day proving to you I am worthy of your love.” Emma started to tear up. She shook her head.
“Uh, Dean, well I've known you all my life and I've well always thought you were just a big kid. Just someone fully of immaturity and not going anywhere. But you proved to be otherwise. You became the great unbeatable lawyer who I am proud to work with. You have shown me kindness and love and I know that if I’m down, you will always be there for me to make me laugh. I love you Dean.” Dean smiled and mouthed back I love you too. The minister continued the ceremony, though Dean listened in and out until he said the magic six words.
“You may now kiss the bride!” the minister said and Dean pulled Emma close, kissing her deeply and lovingly. “Mr. And Mrs. Dean Crowley.” He said as the couple walked down the aisle. Mason and Lacey followed, the Finn and Faith, lastly the little ones, Jude and Ashlyn.
As people said congrats to the happy couple, the photographer took the opportunity to start pictures. He first took the Andersons to the rose bed in the garden. He took a couple generic photos. Lacey looked beautiful in her lavender knee length gown with straps. The little family smiled brightly as the photographer had her sit on rock with Mason behind her and Jude sitting by her feet. He then turned to Finn, Faith and Ashlyn. Faith knelt down, eye level with Ashlyn and Finn stood behind them, hands on their shoulders. After he ran to Dean and Emma, taking picture after picture of the two. Everyone’s favorite was Emma sitting on the wood swing and Dean pushing her, only to be surpassed by the photo right after when the switched places and Emma was pushing Dean. Then pictures of both parties were taken and by this time all of the guests had left to go to the Reception hall. They had Emma and Ashlyn, Emma and Faith, Emma and Lacey, and the all of them Then the photographer took pictures of Dean and Mason, Dean and Jude, Dean and Finn and all of them. After a few photos of the Crowley’s, the Anderson couple, the soon to be Connors couple, the Jude and Ashlyn, the 8 of them piled into the limo to go to the reception. Emma, with the help of Mason, had to pull Dean into the car from the sunroof. They pulled up to the hall and all got out. They lined up to be announced into the hall.
“Welcome Bridesmaid Faith Summers and Groomsman Finn Connors.” The announcer said and faith and Finn walked in, and took their places at the head table. “Maid of Honor Lacey Anderson and Best Man Mason Anderson.” Lacey and Mason walked in, taking their spots between where the married couple would be and where Faith and Finn sat. “Flower girl Ashlyn Connors and Ring Bearer Jude Anderson.” Jude walked out holding Ashlyn’s hand. He brought her to her mom then went to his seat next to Finn. “Now please Welcome for the first time, Mr. And Mrs. Dean Crowley!” Dean and Emma walked in, hand in hand. “And we’d like to invite them for their first dance.” The two went to the floor and started as the first few notes of More Than Words began. For four minutes, it was only those two in the world. They went and sat down afterwards for an amazing.
About a half hour later, all couples ended up on the dance floor. Faith had given Ashlyn to her Auntie Jen who was helping her eat. She went out and joined her fiance on the dance floor while Mason and Lacey danced close to the newly weds. Jude had found a little girl to dance with. After the song, Mason went over to him.
“Hey bud, who’s that you found?” He asked his son. Jude looked at the little girl who was sitting on the floor. She had to be at least two years younger than his son.
“Her Name is Claire.” Jude told him. Mason nodded. “She’s four.”
“Hey Claire,” He said softly. The little girl looked up. “You ok?” she shook her head. “What’s wrong?” she pointed to her tummy. “Lets go find your mommy.” she nodded and held her arms out. Mason smiled and picked her up. “Come on bud.” He said as he held her hand out for his son to take. “Where’s your mommy?” the little girl pointed to a red head. He tapped her shoulder. “Excuse me I think your little girl is hungry.” He said handing the woman the little girl.
“Thank you.” She said taking Claire. “You’re Mason right? Mason Anderson?” He nodded. “I’m Lucy, Lucy Sawyer.”
“We’re both named from Beatles songs!” Said Jude. “I’m Jude.” Lucy smiled as Lacey walked up.
“Making friends?” She asked coming up. Jude nodded. She extended her hand. “Lacey Anderson.”
“Lucy.” she said. “And this is my Husband Lucas. And you’re son met Claire.” Lacey smiled. She put a hand on Mason’s shoulder.
“They’re ready for toasts.” He nodded and he walked to the table, gathering people's attention. Being the best man, he made the first speech.
"When Lacey and I first moved here, Dean was one of the first people I met and for some reason, he attached himself to my hip. I had no idea why he attached to me, or how to get rid of him. Soon his antics grew on me and Jude loved him. We were out one day and Emma happened to walk by. Dean had stopped in mid sentence, which was surprising since he never shuts up." Mason even had to stop and laugh at that. "Since everyone here knows that Dean's talk switch was perpetually on high and volume is always up to an eleven out of ten and sometimes up to a fifteen. So sudden and dead silence caught my attention. That's when I noticed his staring at Emma. It took a while for me to get it out of him, but when he told me of his love for her, well it took me twice as long, and a little-"
"A lot." Lacey fake coughed, starting another round of laughs. Mason looked down laughing then looked back.
"A Lot of help from Lacey to push him to make the first move because if you wait for something, that something isn't going to last forever. In fact it took Me and Lace having a hand it in to actually make it happen. But now that it has and now we're here, Emma, you've made Dean completely happy. I've never seen him happier. Though his volume is always up at a fifteen now."
"Of course you'd know that so well. Thank god you sound proofed the dungeon." Dean said, causing laughs. Mason started cracking up. Lacey and Emma had gotten used to the jokes Dean made about the two, knowing that's all the were. Mason turned laughing and sat back down in his seat.
"What did he mean Daddy?" Jude asked as his father walked behind him. Mason simply shook his head and patted Jude's shoulder. Thank god Deans sex jokes were obscure enough that the six year old couldn't understand them. When he took his seat next to Dean, he reached into his inside breast pocket and pulled out an envelope. He handed it to Dean.
"Ooh! It's warm." He said excitedly. Mason gave him a look telling him to open it. Dean sighed and did. Inside there were two first class plane tickets to Italy, a hotel reservation for two weeks, with breakfast lunch and dinner included, and 5,000 Euro banknotes, which comes out to roughly just under 7,000 US dollars. Dean furrowed his eyebrows. "What's all this?"
"You're plane tickets for tomorrow morning. A hotel reservation with meals included at some of the best restaurants in Italy and spending money. It's your honeymoon," Mason said like it was obvious. "Dude, that's like a shit ton of money. You don't need to do this, besides, you have a kid." Dean said.
"Yeah and?" Mason argued. "First you are my best friend. Second, You don't need to worry about money for us. I'll simply write another best seller." He shrugged. "Third, Jude is 6. He is past the super expensive stage, which is the first three years. Fourth-"
"How many points are there to this?" Dean asked, only to get a dirty look from Mason. "Fine.. Fourth..."
"Fourth, you are my best friend and this is supposed to be the best day, the best time, of your life. I have the means to make it happen, so I make it happen."
"Thanks Man." Dean said with a smile and Mason nodded in return. Dean put it with the other wedding envelopes and got up, grabbing Emma and dragging her to the dance floor. Emma followed, laughing.
