Really gutted Wahlbar is no more. Another great DIY space gone. The new management have cancelled all upcoming shows there, saying that live bands are “too loud”.
I miss the old owners.
Played some of my favourite shows there - the 1994! show is one of my all time favourites. Many great This City Is Ours nights there too - playing live with Borland was great there. Also our last show was there.
Favourite Wahlbar memory will be when I was DJing, blind drunk, playing Pet Shop Boys and being so fucked that I didn’t realise it was skipping.
So long Wahlbar. You were great. Can’t wait for you to be turned into another fucking Tiki bar for cunts that I’ll never go to in my life.
