I used to work as a delivery guy for the Lange Nacht der Museen. Boring until I found this. My job was to deliver the booklets and tickets and stuff to the museums in some remote locations in Austria, that was a lot of driving through beautiful landscapes and little sleepy villages. It was fun! I loved it. A lot to discover at every corner. One day, I came along this building. It stood there elegantly. I drove by and my attention was hooked immediately. I tried to enter the premise but no chance to get a better viewpoint than this one. No filters here, the atmosphere was just like that, in mid autumn, misty, tranquility and mystery. The best setting for designers to focus and experiment.

It’s the headquarters of Bene in Waidhofen, somewhere in Austria. It’s designed by Laudris Ortner. It’s the same architect who designed the Museumsquartier as we know it today, and the MUMOK you can find it dissected in one of the early posts of this series. Stay tuned for next week’s beauty.
