Created by @andreaventura_portraits, this stunning artwork of poet A.R. Ammons (‘49, D. Litt (‘72) accompanies an article in @newyorkermag on the release of a two-volume collection of Ammons’ poems. Alumnus Robert M. West (‘91), associate professor of English @msstate, edited the volumes. The introduction is by Helen Vendler. Ammons, who died in 2001, has been described by his friend and fellow writer Emily Herring Wilson (MA ‘62) as “destined for greatness through the grandeur of words.” #arammons #poets #poetry #wakealumni #wfu #wakeforest #wakeforestuniversity #books #thenewyorker #godeacs #lifeafterwake (at Wake Forest Magazine)
