As it has been tradition for many years within Wakefield, during the last weekend of pride month, this small town holds its very own pride festival! With a mayoral speech to welcome the residents of Wakefield into the event which takes place over two days, this year’s pride festival is held on the 26th & 27th June.
Taking over the town square, a main stage will be set up for the mayoral speech followed by performances from Wakefield’s own residents. As well as a stage, multiple stalls and amusements will be set up with a range of items for sale, activities to participate in, etc.

SATURDAY SCHEDULE
9AM: Mayoral Opening Speech on the Main Stage
11AM: Parade around the town square and surrounding streets with music by Retro Rhythms
1PM: Untitled performance on the Main Stage
3PM: Dance performance by Willow Davenport & Dixon Elementary on the Main Stage
6PM: Mayoral Closing Speech on the Main Stage followed by fireworks
SUNDAY SCHEDULE
10AM: Mayoral Opening Speech on the Main Stage
12PM: Dance performance by Willow Davenport & Wakefield Public School on the Main Stage
2PM: Untitled performance on the Main Stage
4PM: Parade around the town square and surrounding streets with music by Retro Rhythms
6PM: Mayoral Closing Speech on the Main Stage followed by fireworks.
STALLS & AMUSEMENTS
The Winchester & Pitcher Perfect Bar will be serving beers, liquor, cocktails mocktails & soft drinks.
First Steps will have a stall with face painting & temporary tattoos for all ages.
Charcoal Grill & The Magnolia Inn will be hosting a BBQ.
Crafts & Creations have set up along various spots along the side walks to give the residents of Wakefield the chance to create beautiful chalk murals.
Davenport Orchard & Sunshine Acres Farm will be serving a variety of freshly squeezed juices & lemonades.
Best Shot Range have set up two amusements with a tin can stand using pellet guns for the older residents and an asteroid blaster using super soakers for the younger residents.
Priscilla's Parlour will be popping up her famous tent to be serve ice creams & slushies.
Sweet Serenity Spa are holding a raffle which has a selection of prizes supplied by Wakefield’s residents and local business consisting of alcohol, hamper baskets, gift cards, etc.
Hugs ‘N’ Bakes will be serving freshly baked cookies & cakes along with having a cookie and cupcakes decorating station.
Barclay Town Hall have a dunk tank giving residents the chance to dunk a council member or if they manage to catch the stall at the right time then Wakefield’s mayor Kevin Morton will be in the dunk tank!
Sugar Shack will be serving their usual sweets and treats along with offering the chance to make your own Pick ‘N’ Mix bags!
Mercer Construction have a Beat The Goalie where residents can go up against one of it’s workers and try kick a soccer ball into one of the rings past the goalie and win a prize!
Bean There Done That will be serving hot beverages along with a selection of pastries.
