That tree ... it’s a reminder of strength. Of commitment. Of accountability. Of acknowledging that there is no such thing as a morning person. Of showing up. Of FOMO. Of community. Of friendship. Of being #weatherproof . Of not giving up. Of so many things. That tree, it was the first thing I saw when arriving (alone) in the darkness and cold of a 6am morning in December for my first #novemberproject workout exactly 2 years ago today . The #bucketlist item I thought would be done just once as I trained for the triathlon I thought I’d never be able to complete. Even so much so that I spent a week preparing my breakfast for that morning (protein pancakes) even went out to buy syrup and all the ingredients for the pancakes since I’ve never before made pancakes but knew this would be a big deal and my morning chia pudding just wouldn’t suffice ... so now 2 years later and I see that tree. I’m reminded of everything #novemberprojectnyc stands for ... and the fact that I’ve grown to embody just a couple of them. And as I was taking my selfie to post here with said tree, janelle + selfie stick + crew showed up .... bottom line - 2 years later, I’ve got a whole bunch of spray painted shirts, a consistent alarm set for 5:45am, know some amazing humans I can’t imagine my life without, and have a bottle of maple syrup in my fridge ... #np_nyc #fitfam #spraypainteverything #grassrootsgear #justshowup #thumbpic #fitnyc #fitny #fitnessjourney #fitspiration #wakethesun #wakethesunup #fitspiration #thattree #christmastree ... #thankyou @novemberproject @novemberprojectnyc
