Almost every year we would go to Las Vegas and one of my favorite places to visit was @bangerbrewing. The El HEFE is one of my beers. It’s the only Jalapeño beer I’ve ever had. Last year while we were there I purchased this shirt knowing full well I couldn’t fit it because I was determined to fit into it. This has been my motto the last few weeks; wake up, kick ass, repeat! I have literally been non-stop, with something on every single day, and mostly 4-6am wake ups, and plenty of long days and late nights. So I decided I might as well get a t shirt to remind me of my badassery 😂💪🏻😎!! (I also bought my dad one on his last birthday, and my mum requested one for Mother’s Day! Team Davies Clan t shirts!) I am trying harder for the next few weeks to work on my pacing (I may have had a very gentle, very kind row from not one, but two drs) and have a more balanced routine, with actual rest days scheduled into my calendar. Unfortunately, the last few weeks haven’t been conductive to chilling out; I have so much going on in my life rn that I make bloody Eastenders look boring 😂🙈! But hopefully things will calm down a little now. As much as I’m proud of myself for pushing through and being there for the things I had to do, the things I wanted to do, and especially for the people who needed me, I’ve known for a few weeks my hectic lifestyle was not gonna last; and I was right. This photo was taken on Friday, and although I look okay, I was knackered. Yesterday, Saturday, I was meant to be doing an awesome Active Citizens Training, but when my alarm went at 6am and two doses of meds and a cuppa hadn’t been enough to allow me to get out of bed, I knew I just couldn’t do it. This weekend has been all about resting and sleeping, and I feel much better for it. I honestly hadn’t realised just how exhausted I was. It’s difficult sometimes to listen to our bodies when we’re chronically ill; I’m so good at ignoring it telling me how unwell I am every damn day that even when I’m especially poorly, I often don’t realise. Case in point? I had/have a kidney infection and didn’t realise for FOUR DAYS, until I peed a load of pus and blood at 2am, and then was like “huh, that explains the horrific back and tummy pain, urgency to pee, nausea, exhaustion...” thankfully the antibiotics are doing their job, which has also contributed to me feeling a bit better.
