Okay, a lot of these are St. Patrick's Day perennials, but I love 'em anyhow.

There's too many for one day, so I watch 'em over the entire week, in no particular order, although The Barrytown Trilogy - The Commitments, The Snapper and The Van - should be watched in that sequence.

Frank of Ireland was written by and stars real-life brothers Brian (Frank) and Dohmnall Gleeson (Frank's best friend, Doofus), and guest-stars their da, Brendan Gleeson, in one episode.

The descendants of Local Hero

In a discussion over in the fabulous Peter Capaldi Brainrot Center, I mentioned to @glitterypin and @ixdthestreams that I find Local Hero (1983) to be a great example--perhaps even the ancestor--of a sub-genre of film I love: heartwarming minor adventures in close-knit communities in the northern parts of the British Isles featuring charming ensemble casts. This is my list of recommended films in this genre (as a person born in the U.S. in the 1980s):
