Happy winter solstice! Tonight is the longest night of the year and this day has been nothing but shades of grey. From now on, the nights will get shorter and the days longer again and I am hoping so much to get a few cloudless days to be able to recharge on sunlight again. I don't mind long nights, but I do mind weeks of nothing but clouds. Those photos I took a few weeks ago when we had a little overnight snowstorm. I had huge difficulties getting sharp images because the strong wind and big snowflakes would continueously blow out my candle and I could hardly see my camera in the darkness with all the snow swirling through the air. Now it will take a few weeks until the days get really bright again and then some more for nights and days to be somewhat equally long.
