I think at least in Wisconsin, this generation has done so much in our efforts to recall Walker and we actually pay attention politics and try to change things. That's easy to see. We also work for what we have. Things aren't handed to us. Just because our parents may help us out, just because we have an iPhone, it doesn't mean we are lazy and we don't make sacrifices for ourselves to be successful.

I couldn’t agree more! I live on the East Side of Milwaukee, where Generation Y is probably at its strongest in the city. We staff just about every business, every volunteer organization and every political campaign. We are educated, driven, hard working and ambitious.

I’d tell anyone who thinks we’re lazy, narcissistic and feel entitled to come see what our generation has done in Wisconsin. Hell we lost against Walker and in most of the recall races but it showed how hard we’ll fight, even in defeat it made us better people, and better citizens.

The Cheesehead Rebellion

Governor Walker inherited a fiscal mess with a shortfall of over $3 billion, so he fixed the problem, and balanced the budget without raising taxes. Indeed, property taxes will actually now go down, and Wisconsin's unemployment rate is lower than it has been since 2008. Let's remember why the radical left launched this recall. Here’s the frightening policy that Scott instituted. Are you ready for it? It’s very scary. Governor Walker asked the public employee union members to pay a small portion into their own retirement plans and medical insurance, just like most folks in the private sector already do.

Death threats are never something to be ignored, so it's good that the police are looking into this. However, for our money, we're betting--and hoping--that the tweets in question, which you can see here, were probably just expressions of anger composed in the heat of the moment.

This asshole was standing on a corner in my hometown in Wisconsin today. That's me in the background with the sign that a friend and I made that simply states, "Fuck this guy". We stood next to him for a good 45 minutes before someone called the cops on us and we had to leave.

Best 45 minutes ever. It was so inspiring to see all the people that supported us and stopped to give us high fives/hugs and to take pictures. One lady hugged us and said she lives across the street from this man and she has to look at that sign every day, as he keeps it up in his front yard!

He didn't stop at just standing there though, as soon as we showed up he started insulting us. Said we were brainwashed and trailer trash. Said we are going to hell and our beliefs are wrong. We stood there though, and it wasn't long before a young muslim girl walked by to give us high fives that he began yelling at her too. "Jesus is the son of God, not Allah!" It was so shocking to hear him publically make fun of someone for their religion, that my jaw literally dropped. He started spouting off all these 'facts' and how she should do more research ON HER OWN RELIGION and she should do that by going on Google. Yes, because the internet knows allllll.

When the cops showed up and asked us to leave, we asked why he got to stay. Their answer was because 'his sign was expressing his political views and our sign was expressing our views on him.' Basically they didn't want a huge fight to break out or anything, which I can understand, but it was still a shitty excuse to let him stay there all day.

I can't believe people like this think what they are doing is 'God's way'.

Voter turnout is heavy across Wisconsin, including the conservative Milwaukee suburb of Brookfield. A line of voters snaked outside Dixon Elementary School before the doors opened at 7 a.m.

Jeff Freisleben, one of the first voters to cast his ballot, said he voted for Gov. Scott Walker.

"I like that he went into office and did what he said he would do," Freisleben said. "Tom Barrett doesn't have a plan and can't answer the questions when asked."

Heavy turnout in Milwaukee led the city Election Commission to call out the reserves Tuesday.

The backup workers were needed to handle long lines, partly because a significant number of new voters were registering at the polls, Edman said.

“We knew things would be busy, but we didn’t know how busy,” Edman said.

How to Buy Elections

Scott Walker in some estimates has a spending advantage of six times his opponent, and in other estimates seven times.

Imagine what the Walker campaign can do with that money? If he puts all the money in ads, he gets a six-fold exposure advantage. All the people in Wisconsin hear is that Walker is great, and his opponent is a terrible person. 

Remember that generally, the people who decide elections are uninterested in politics, and their main exposure are these ads. So, Walker could lie, and there's no way to deal with it.

Hopefully, the Democrats have bolstered a ground game that is strong enough to deal with this, but this type of monetary advantage makes me worry about our political future.
