so i've been thinking and i've decided that valentines day makes the most amount of sense for s4's holiday (s2 had christmas, s3 thanksgiving). now they may not do a holiday at all, due to limited episodes AND the "weird" run that means they're not going to line up irl time of year with most holidays BUT

if they do one, it should be valentines' day, because that allows them to pull those threads of the relationships they launched in 3x18

james & kelly - james going all out for their first valentines' day as a remarried couple

cordell & geri - cordell wanting to Big Gesture this really badly but also not wanting to a) spook geri b) do something she doesn't want and c) do something that will remind them both of what he and em did for valentines

sadie & august - august trying to come up with elaborate sweet gestures/first date ideas for valentines, but every time he works up the courage to try, sadie goes off on a tirade about how stupid the whole holiday is, etc. finally she admits to august that her mom loved ALL the holidays (even the stupid ones) and she can't bring herself to enjoy any of them now without melissa. cue august very sweetly giving her a "anti-valentines/NOT-valentines date" that gives her a new happy memory for the day AND ends in their first kiss

liam & ben - liam is feeling smug because it's NOT their first valentines' day (i don't think? the timelines are weird on this show :P :P), but he is wanting to go All Out and maybe ben is a little bit more hesitant? also give me trey and liam bonding/trying to leverage the fact that they're dating siblings to work out the perfect valentines gift for their respective significant others

bonham & abby - both act like they think it's stupid, but OF COURSE bonham gives abby flowers like he does every year. abby probably makes bonham a bacon bouquet or something. XD

stella & colton - stella worries that colton is maybe over playing house together, colton is feeling stressed about his parents (again) AND that stella's going to find some nice college guy and ditch him. they have a nice home date (and probably offscreen conversation because the show does NOT have time for them; i assume they will be neglected due to story and screentime constraints :P)

trey & cassie - it's just them navigating their new relationship and their first valentines together <3<3<3 cassie stresses about it to a bemused walker. trey stresses about it to a bemused walker. trey wants to be really romantic, because he's not fooled by cassie trying to be nonchalant about the whole thing. (and he's right. cassie wants Romance TM.)
