The wider fandom will not only disregard Sam, they will also, in their minds, give all of his best personality traits to Dean, pretend they’re right, and then get mad when people point it out.

Like, if you actually look honestly at Dean from their low empathy, low intellect lens, he’s everything they should hate. He’s definitely got some toxic masculinity going on, sorry. He’s definitely a bit of a perv (speculating which one of the college girls is legal, when you’re inappropriately old for them, come on Dean). He uses put downs IRONICALLY AT SAM like:

‘you’re always saying *pansy* stuff like that!’ ‘Dude could you be more *gay*? ‘You’re a red-headed *woman*’ and lets not forget:

‘Sam Winchester wears make up, Sam Winchester cries his way through sex’ (words that actually happened in the show folks, if you didn’t start at S4 you would know).

And while the context for these is actually fairly typical straight guy ribbing brother- it’s funny that a fandom -so unforgiving of anything remotely associated with homophobia or misogyny, that usually relies on highly decontextualised, bad faith interpretations of everything white cis men do, somehow managed to miss this, or even better EXPLAIN IT AWAY.

I actually LOVE Dean as a character but that’s because I know decent people can be problematic and their experiences can be nuanced, and I don’t have a broad spectrum pathological hatred of white cis men that underpins my interpretation of everything lol.

Anyway. I’m getting off the point.

I’m fed up of *those people* in this fandom stealing all of what’s good about Sam and then being like ‘Sam is lame’. He’s not fucking lame- you are. Like- you were too busy reading Destiel headcanon ‘meta’ to actually get to know the character Sam- because he really is in the way of Castiel and Dean- because Dean loves Sam more.

You projected everything about yourself onto Dean- he’s NOT canonically queer, he doesn’t want to fuck Castiel, and despite how flawed John is Dean loved his father. If you looked HONESTLY at Dean you wouldn’t like him! So instead what you do, is you blame everything you don’t like about him on Sam and John! And that’s INSANE! Stop doing that! It means everyone has to put up with your dumb, wildly biased opinions!

I know none of this is real, but it really irks me a lot. Sam doesn’t deserve any of this shit as a character. He’s just such a wonderful guy, and guys like that, who are brave without being toxic, strong without being intimidating, tough without the macho bravado, optimistic without being stupid, able to truly understand difficult people and love them anyway, they barely ever exist irl.

I think Jared and Jensen are two very different people, and i'm honestly so glad that Jensen proved that over and over again. Just look at jibcon, they both made the same joke with Misha about reenacting certain infamous scene, with 2 very different aproaches.

Jensen was making fun of Jared's obnoxious behavior "i'm sorry you went through that, and i'm sorry i missed it haha" showing a bit of compassion for Misha first, like yeah it was a messed up situation but it was funny as heck.

Jared was making fun of Misha, it was all about humiliating him in front of a crowd all over again.

Notice that Jensen willingly assumed the vulnerable position.

Why? Because he's respects Misha and he was not going to put him trough the same shit again, and because he doesn't need to put down other people to feel like a man.

Jared tackled Misha to the floor, forced him to a vulnerable position without his consent.

Why? Probably because he wanted to show he was in control, he was the manliest man, the strongest, the one who dominates etc.

Toxic as hell. And clearly he didn't care if he hurt Misha in the process.

Notice that Misha never put a hand on Jensen in any inappropriate way nor viceversa.

Jared and Jensen are definitely two very different people.

Jared isn’t the typical Hollywood asshole and actually treats people who he works with as his friends and family and jokes around them as such and doesn’t fake his relationships or friendships for points in the fandom. Jared insisting that SPN will not have a future project without Misha and Cas doesn’t change with what audience he is in front of. He says that in front of J2M fans as well as bro fans as well as only Jared/Walker fans.

Unlike Jensen. Who praises Misha and Despair when he is on the stage with Misha in front of hellers and insults the same person and the same song he gushed about a day before saying Misha is horrible in front of bro fans Betrays the person who he called bis brother for 15 years and belittles Misha's looks and talent who he has been friends with for over a decade.

Unlike Misha who says Cas will ask Sam only about Dean in front of hellers and says Cas and Sam's relationship would eclipse Dean in front of Mishalecki fans.

Yeah Jared IS a different person and neither of them deserve Jared.

i was watching 6x22 the other day and something really struck me about jared's acting. when sam first wakes up in the world in his head, he's all innocent bambi on too-long legs with puppy-dog eyes.

soulless!sam is, of course, a semi-emotionless sociopath (kinda), drawing a stark contrast with the other sam piece.

but once sam kills soulless!sam, he acts differently. still sweet and empathetic, but more stoic and hardened.

it's as though soulless!sam's traits have been subsumed into him and blended. it really gives the sense that they're individual pieces of sam, and that the sam before 6x22 wasn't sam in his entirety, either. maybe this was obvious to everyone else but i only just noticed, and ugh, it was just so good!!

Jared Padalecki is just a phenomenal actor! He's not only playing three different versions (or let's rather call it aspects) of Sam here, he's technically playing 5, two of which are the merges of the re-united versions/aspects. And he delivers flawlessly on all 5 of them!

Not many actors would pay that much attention to nuances and details.

I think this outstanding performance has also to do with Jared knowing Sam through and through. Knowing every aspect of Sam's character. Thus he's able to play with it on such a nuanced level.

So let me get this straight. Jensen was paid blood money to shoot a commercial the country of Ukraine requested not be sold in their country because it funds a romanticizes their oppressors. Otoh, Jared is doing a USO to raise morale of American and Ukrainian troops training on American bases. But Jared is somehow the problematic one.

My Rant

Apologies in advance but I had a very wierd realization since I had a lot of supernatural fanfics open in my browser some old (already read atleast once) some new which I was hoping to read (had given it a start).

I painfully realized this morning that I am never going to actually read them coz they just aren't fun or simply don't excite me anymore. These were a mix of Gen, some J2 and perhaps even wincest. Disclaimer - I am open to reading Wincest and J2 but I am not a shipper by any means- this was just to give a semblence of what I had open.

As a result, I closed all these tabs once the realization hit me that perhaps the reason for this is my disdain for JA and how he has behaved over the last 6 months. This has permeated over to Dean now especially after the latest con when him and Jared both said that Dean and Sam were facets of their own respective personalities.

There were a lot of qualities of Dean that I don't resonate with and understand to be inherently toxic but the brotherly relationship helped me over look all of it for the purposes of the larger story and made me look at them both as a unit which they very much were on the show. Luckily me not being attracted to JA helped me keep that objectivity which I am very much aware most of Dean stans don't have.

Now however armed with the knowledge that Dean atleast in the later seasons is derived out of JA and one of JA's biggest qualities being subterfuge which he employs so seemlessly with Jared, I am finally at the point where I am unable to fully enjoy Dean.

Every statement with JA seems like a means to an end or rather just a display of how he thinks he is somehow superior to everyone. Everyone around him seems to be harping on this as well with little besides I guess his looks to back this up really. The smugness with which his fans operate towards dehumanizing everyone else doesn't help matters but it is what it is.

Personally I feel sad at losing Dean but I guess it was inevitable even though I tried to be objective for a long time. Hope this doesn't seep into the show where I can still enjoy my fav episodes since I am not into full rewatches.

It may seem like an unpopular opinion for must but supernatural must not be revised and if the end of the CW or lackluster performance of TW is the last nail in it's coffin so be it.

SPN was an emotional thread that bound it's audience and that's the reason that they stayed on with the show even when the story lost its shine. When that emotional cord between J2 was tainted, it really wasn't the same for most people and JA's continued disregard for it has only cemented it further. The illusion has been broken and the act is now over. I am sure people even wonder whether what we saw was even ever there to fully begin with or just simply an act put on by JA and some others.

So, I have come to a decision that i will be stepping away from the Chris Evans Fandom for a while, i think it's just too toxic and i do still like him but I don't need the negative talk from everyone so, with that being said i am now joining the dean/jensen fandom!

Less drama from that one and so many new people i have seen on here that love Jensen. Plus this guy sings!! so...hello Ackels! I am still going to be friends with all the CE fans, But as i said i'm taking a step back. Love you all!

I used to tell long-time readers that to predict SPN's season finale is to follow Sam's arc and characters' reactions to him. After watching 3 episodes of Mary and John go from not-cute meet to worrying if their love will become codependent toxic when Mary goes to college while the Acreedas are looking for Dean Winchester, my guess is Dean Winchester shows up in the finale to tell John and Mary something very important:

Dean: I have a habit of sacrificing faux family members to save Sammy.

John: Isn't sacrifice just a more civilized way of saying murder?

Dean: Yes

Mary: But because John and I are your actual family that means you won't murder sacrifice us, right?

Dean: *Anakin and Padma meme*

Mary and John: Why are you smiling like JAWS after a snack?

I remember Jensen being asked if the leaked script was real and giving an answer that at the time seemed to indicate no. Now I'm wondering if the answer didn't mean we wouldn't see "that" because it had already been re-drafted by then. I'm not wondering on a who won you or Goob (b/c he's gone rogue crazy LLL) I am, however, wondering b/c the 4th draft had more stereotypes/negative tropes/hack writing. And I'm trying to judge RT versus what I thought I'd admired of him. (### script question anon)

Yeah... So the reason I thought it was fake was because it was so bad. I also didn't believe the Grifter's story about how it got to him, which was fake.

I've since learned where it was leaked, who leaked it, and how it got into the Grifter's server. He lied about all of it. We also got a copy from a verified source that was very similar.

When Jensen implied it was fake, I wanted to believe it was fake because again, it was so badly written. It was a lesson to me once again to not believe things just because I want to believe them. Since I didn't think it was real, so I went with what Jensen said at the time. Also, when you think about it, it was really stupid of him to say that. When we see the episode, we will see how similar it is. I have no idea why he said that.

I later came to realize that some of what Jensen says about the show isn't accurate, which is why I now say that he's not as involved as it seems that he is because he's done this on multiple occasions now.

I even thought one of my genuine sources was lying because it contradicted what Jensen was saying in m&gs. Ever since I started thinking of Jensen as out of touch with what's going on, I haven't run into these issues.

The first pilot had a much bigger part for Lata, and an awesome scene that was taken away to give more time to Mary. The POC parts were reduced both from the scripts and from the first Pilot.
