In case you are looking for apps that encourage you to go for a walk and move a bit, I have found 2 simple apps to walk that DO NOT count calories. In my search, I noticed most fitness apps and walking games cound calories directly or indirectly. Some even reward you if you burn x calories per day or per week which I find horrifying, worrying and a massive problem. I saw this even in apps for children. So I kept looking and found this 2. One is gamifying walks and the other more fitness-like.
WALKR- it encourages you to walk 10,000 steps per day because that is energy that your spaceship uses to discover new planets. The style is very cute, but the app/game itself is a bit confusing. It may not have much, but I don't know what I can and cannot do. Worth a try though, the planets are very very cute.
ACTIVE 10- it is made by the NHS, the British health service, and it is designed to encourage you to brisk walk for 10 minutes a day. You can set higher goals but it will all be in 10 minute blocks. It also counts how much you walk regardless of speed. It is obviously a very low and easy to achieve goal, but it is an app for sedentary people or people who do not walk much or often. I like it because it celebrates anything you do. There are lots of badges you can get. Every 10 minutes you walk (even in smaller amounts, like 2 mins, and later 3, and later 1 and so on), it throws a small party on your screen. If you have trouble walking for whatever the reason, this may be good for you. It also links to other health-related apps and programs in the UK to engage the general public.
