The ‘Secret Garden’ Walkway I’m Manifesting

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how my side yard is a wasted space. It’s just a narrow strip of grass between my house and fence—too small for furniture, too awkward for anything else. Then I saw a gorgeous paver walkway winding through a garden online and had an epiphany: I need a path.

The photos of Cocoa Beach homes showed these meandering paths with tucked-in greenery, like something out of a fairy tale. One had these irregular stone slabs with moss creeping between them—so charming. Now I’m imagining a little winding trail from my backyard gate to the front, lined with native plants. Maybe even some solar lanterns for nighttime ambiance.

It’s got me sketching layouts in my notebook. This might be the project that finally makes me love my side yard.
