Alec walked into his room after Jace returned from his mission. His mind still reeling from his own personal situation.
It did not matter how long he had lived here it felt different. It will never be the same just like it’s inhabitant.
Alec grabbed his leather jacket from a nearby chair and left. The door slamming behind him. He had to get out of there. Alec may have seemed put together on the outside, but on the inside he was shattered into many unrecognizable pieces.
Did he really do the right thing? Yes. Magnus must have had his powers back by now. He is surely happier. After all he continued to remind Alec how much his magic meant to him. Alec’s love would never be able to fill a hole so big.
Something that Alec will never be again. As he walked the streets of New York he eyes locking on every couple that he passed. So much irony. He never noticed others when he had Magnus, but now it was as if they were rubbing their merriment in his face. Deep down he knew that was not the case.
That was exactly how Alec Lightwood felt. He sat on a bench in Central Park and placed his face in his hands. The memories of what was and what could have been all came rushing in at once like a hurricane as he looked down at the Lightwood family ring.
