Remeber! We still have more boycotts and economic blackouts to go through! They will listen to the money! And while we have the economic blackout 2 on April 18th, there will also be another 50501 protests on April 19th! If you’re to show up at the protests, do not sign up, just show up! Wear masks and hide anything that would identify you! Wear plain clothes and try not to bring your phone because they can and will be able to track you through your phone!
WALMART BOYCOTT
APRIL 7-14
Today is the first day of the Walmart boycott.
There are many reasons to boycott Walmart. I am doing it because they proudly announced that they were no longer participating in DEI initiatives and because they pay starvation wages.
Why only one week? Again there are many reasons but these three are the best ones to me.
1. We don't want a whole lot of people to lose their jobs.
2. There are people in food and or commerce deserts that only have a Walmart to provide the things they need. We can ask that they travel farther or pay more for one week, but it is unreasonable for them to do that forever.
3. We want them to know that their drop in sales is because of the boycott and see how it will be of we do keep the boycott going. This will give them a reason to change.
Now, you can continue to boycott Walmart, if you like, that doesnt bother anyone. I personally will never go back to Target again. But the question of "Why only a week?" Is one that is often asked. And there may be other reasons that you'll hear. But these are the ones that just I, myself, know and believe in.
Remeber! Today April 7th, until next week Monday April 14th, is the Walmart boycott!
Shop Local!
I'm sure those of you who have options will say you've already been boycotting this one, and those of you who have no options will say that you have no choice, but! This is just information for you to do with what you will. Tomorrow is the start of the People's Union Wal-Mart boycott that runs until April 14th.
I never thought I'd live to see the day when my own sister advocates for building a Walmart instead of small locally owned businesses. My own family! Is this what it's like to feel failure and betrayal?
Not for nothing, but it’s really fun to scroll through all the FB posts about boycotting Walmart and commenting, “that’s how capitalism works.”
As an economist, it’s a beautiful thing to witness.
if you're going to boycott walmart, good, and if you're going to protest in store, even better, but please please PLEASE don't do anything to make the employee's jobs harder. a lot of them are only working there because they have almost no other choice, and a lot of them already have enough issues with walmart themselves. they are not the ones you should be angry with.
