Gushing of a Proud Band Alumnus
Tonight, in Brazil, the Calgary Stampede Showband won at the world championship for marching show bands. They are the first band in history to have won three years in a row, and their head drum major (my wonderful, talented, hard-working BFF) is the first person to have been the head major of a champion band for two years running! They aren't the only champions, though: the Calgary Stetson Showband (one of my beloved alma mater bands) won first place at the parade competition at Worlds, and they came in second in the field show competition, the highest they have ever placed in this competition! I am crying with pride right now. I knew they'd knock em' dead!:')
