I don't know if y'all are planning this or not, but I certainly hope the botw musical team is going to put this on Spotify, because I will not be able to live in peace otherwise.

Anyone, everyone did a wonderful job with this musical. I'm in awe of everyones hard work and talent so little people like me can enjoy it. I missed the stream, but watching it back I cannot wait for further developments <3

Link grunted as he slashed his way through another bush on his hunt for the yet-again runaway princess, wiping some sweat off his brow--it was the third time that month the Princess Zelda decided to sneak off and send the entire army into a frenzy searching for her, and his father had assigned him to scouring the forest just south of the castle, making his way through bush after bush until finally his ears caught the sound of gentle breathing.

He pulled back some of the dense foliage and peered into the small little alcove in which he found the missing princess, in her light blue dress with her blonde hair done up, snacking on the vibrant red wildberries of the bushes where she hid.

“What?” Zelda mumbled through her mouthful of berries that also stained her lips and cheeks, and the only thing Link could do was sigh and pluck a berry for himself.

12. Favorite character to write for and why

I love my incarnation of Link. I love 42 year old, having a midlife crisis he didn’t expect Link.

I love that he doesn’t really have a clear idea of what he is doing most of the time, and he is just trying to do his best and really, I feel that way a lot despite being a very successful adult. He gets a bunch of bullshit handed to him that cannot be ignored and he just has to deal with it and fortunately for him, he ends up falling in with people who help him deal with it as they have been dumped into the same situation.

Idk, he has flaws, he isn’t everyone’s favorite, he is an acquired taste for many in the story. He isn’t superman. He is just a guy trying to live his life and understand who he really is, long after he already thought he knew.

25. Ever cry while writing a story

When I was figuring out the end game of Farore, Link had a much harder ending than he does. Like. Really bad. He lives but just nothing else worked out for him and it made me very sad to think about it. I had a lot going on in 2020 while I was writing that and I’m sure I was emotionally exhausted on top of just being traumatized all the time and I took a lot out on him.

I made it up to him, I think.

💡what’s the weirdest thing you’ve been inspired by?

I have a job that can be pretty weird when you step back from it a little. Like, it never seems weird to me but I’ll tell some story and a civilian will stop me and go hang on.

Last year, I was very close to writing 100k words and I asked for prompts to help take me past that and someone threw a prompt at me that was almost exactly a scenario I’d had at work, so I ran with it. It’s called Minor Species and it’s about a fish.

📚 what grammar mistakes do you always make?

I am very very bad about swapping tenses. I also didn’t take to creative writing once I got past required stuff for grad school so I’m pretty vague about punctuation around dialogue and anything I consider advanced. Like a semicolon.
