Hey Darcy, do you or have you considered posting your flash fic to Ao3 for archival purposes? The bookshop one is the second one I've bookmarked and I'm terrified tumblr will eat them someday, or the link will break, or smth like that, and they are so *astonishingly beautiful* that I would really hate to lose them
hi, thank you!! historically i have always declined to put the tumblr ficlets up on ao3, because they really don’t translate well to the ao3 format. they’re not “complete” fics, the way fics on ao3 generally are, and part of the softness and tenderness of them is that I don’t use capitalization or sometimes quotation marks, so i hesitate to transfer them. but i appreciate the interest and i would hate to lose them myself, so maybe i will think about an archival collection, though it wouldn’t happen anytime soon. <3<3
I up and moved across the country in January and I've started building myself a life here and I've been grappling with some really, really hard questions about what I want from my life, across every aspect of it, and I'm holding on to the fact that however scary and complicated it is, I'm proud that I can question things that I thought I knew for sure. And I'm especially proud that I'm starting to actually talk to people about those things. (Thanks for doing this- it's been awesome to read thru)
Building a new life from scratch is an ENORMOUS accomplishment all by itself, but you are also doing the hard work of figuring out what you want from that life, and that is just fantastic! For you to be able to question fundamental aspects of your worldview is truly wonderful, and will help you so much in the years and decades to come; definitely hold on to that ability! And you’re absolutely correct in being proud of yourself for talking to people about this -- believe it or not, you’re probably helping them as much as they’re helping you, by showing what can be accomplished through questioning and working through one’s own preconceptions. WAY TO GO!
