Hydra is fiction. Focus more on what's going on in real life. That's more important.
It wouildn’t be anywhere near as big of an issue if it weren’t for the fact that Marvel has been doubling down and doing this “Captain Hydra” thing, which is just all kinds of wrong.
Captain America was rather explicitly developed as a fictional hero fighting Nazis in World War II, so for him to be all along a man who was supposed to be on their side, and with HYDRA explicitly tied in as their allies in that alternate world - that’s just all kinds of Fuck No.
And that’s where fiction and real life meet: we’re being asked to treat Nazis not as a one-time near total threat to Europe and Asia (if not the world in the end) and as an ongoing source of ideology for white supremacist organizations, but rather as the go-to when we need something shocking or edgy to spice up a main character’s long-running story arc, even if that story arc involves betraying the real-world origins of that character.
