Traveling to the Gryphon Lands

Th Gryphon Lands are not a friendly place for my kind. Although Equestria is currently at piece with the gryphons as a whole, Draconics such as myself were created specifically to fight gryphons. We may be relics from a war long past but hatred can fester for some time. I try and avoid entering their homeland if possible, but I still owed Falling Star a favor or two. I'm writing this now from an inn at the border. We will be crossing tonight under cover of darkness, Falling Star has information on this warlord we intend on robbing but has yet to tell me, I hate being uninformed. Ignorance makes us vulnerable.

Falling Star Arrives

I was training outside, practicing my fire breathing, when Falling Star appeared at my home, as she said she would. "Wander, I'm here about that job I mentioned," she said flipping her mane out of her face, "There is a certain gem that needs...recovering."

"Okay Star, where is this thing and who do we need to get it from?" I asked.

"A gryphon warlord has it. Thankfully he rules an area on the edge of the gryphon kingdoms so we won't need to go to far into unfriendly territory. With the two of us working together I'm sure we can manage it easily." she answered.

"Well then. I guess we should get started. I've already packed what I should need, you've got your bags already. Lets get moving. Good to be working with you again Falling Star." I said, eager to get started.

"Same to you flyboy." she said, calling me by the nickname she gave me on our first job together.

Back home.

Ah, that was a great trip. It had been far to long since I had last seen her. We may be different but I just can't get over her. Miss Falling Star, treasure hunter from Cloudsdale. We haven't worked together on a job in some time, but we try to stay in touch. She has asked me for help on a little mission of her own, and as I have no work lined up for a while I may as well pay her back the favor I owe her. 

I will be at my home, practicing as always until I get word from her to start our next job. I can't let myself get sloppy after all. Goodnight my brothers and sisters, and fear not the shadow.

((I had one hell of a writing session last night. Up late writing, finished chapter twelve with an end word count of over 3700. So I wrote  roughly 3000 words last night. once the chapter has been edited I will post it with my usual accompanying blog post.))

On the Daughter of Starswirl

It has been a long while since my last update. When last I spoke to you, I was heading to investigate Stargaze's archives. I found that archive wasn't exactly the right term, library would be closer. She spent a long time simply writing the pieces of the future she could glean, even those that made little sense. It took a lot of digging, but I found what she had on Discord. The mad king of the Discordian Accord.  As all in Equestria now know, he is sealed in stone in the Royal Canterlot Gardens. He is set to break free at intervals and  must be re-returned to stone. But it appears these intervals are just as random as he is. For over a thousand years he stood still, freed by the bickering of school children. Perhaps my employer could make use of this information, and perhaps convince Celestia to move that stone prison somewhere less....public. I have to return to Canterlot and deliver my report. Goodnight brothers and sisters and fear not the shadow.

Finally a break

I finally have a lead. I flew halfway across Equestria to do it but I finally found a lead on who gave the discord prophecy. These details, such as the name of the prophet, always seem to get lost, leaving many great stories incomplete. It unfortunately appears that this prophet has been dead for some time now. The first daughter of Starswirl the Bearded seems to have been the prophet in question. Her name was Stargaze and it seems future sight was her special talent. Her mark was a crystal ball filled with stars. I have found her records and will attempt to locate her original prophecy. Things are starting to look up. Fear not the shadow, brothers and sisters, I must go to my studies.

((I MAY have just written most if not all of chapter 8 in one sitting. It's still a bit rough but I think its mostly done. I hope I don't disappoint any of my readers.
