((I am thinking of starting to do a weekly-ish piece where I talk about the latest fan fiction I have read. I will give critique even though my opinion matters little. I find so many amazing stories, and I want others to find them. I'm not doing this as if I am a better author than anyone, I'm not at all. I just want others to see good stories. I hope no one is offended by this, but I think I will do it anyway, I intend to cover as many types of stories as possible, ranging all the way from comedy, shipping, adventure, a bit of grimdark, (I doubt any clop but who knows), and whatever else I stumble across in my trawling the internet.))

I've returned to Canterlot.

I've never truly felt comfortable in this city. Maybe its the crowds, or the fact a few of the ponies here still think in the old way. I am tired of being seen as a monster, just because of my dark fur and my sharp eyes and teeth. Its not as if I chose this, I've spent my whole life trying to help all of ponykind regardless of which type of pony I am. All I do is find and tell stories. History, fiction, it doesn't matter. I am considering breaking out my old disguise again, I thought that with the princess' support my kind would be free of persecution but it appears I may have been wrong. Ah well, I have delivered my report to my employer and as always been paid quite well. I need a bit of a vacation I think. Its been a while since I've been to Cloudsdale, I'll send another message once I'm there, now I have an old friend to go surprise, goodnight my brothers and sisters, and fear not the shadow.

((I had one hell of a writing session last night. Up late writing, finished chapter twelve with an end word count of over 3700. So I wrote  roughly 3000 words last night. once the chapter has been edited I will post it with my usual accompanying blog post.))

Training

Although I rarely need to use it these days I still keep up my training. At least an hour of combat practice a day, just to keep me in shape. It is still aggravating to find a place to practice free from prying eyes. Ponies tend to notice loud cracks and plumes of flame. Even with all the progress I've made since my days as a young colt I will never feel like I am strong enough. The world is a dangerous place, even when it doesn't appear to be, and the pursuit of knowledge is often a bloody path to walk. 

I've said all I can for now and must be moving on. Goodnight brothers and sisters, and fear not the shadow.
