so emily has always been a fan of becsmadbeats’s mashups and remixes, but never really thought much of the person who made them except that they were probably pretty cool
because becsmadbeats keeps a super low profile with like no other social media
emily does a cover of one of their mashups and its great and to emily’s surprise, they actually comment on her video “sick job, dude” and emily’s like :D because she’s never seen them comment on other people’s covers of their mashups
chloe and emily are both subscribed to stacie because they like her makeup stuff
chloe texts emily one day: “hey didnt you do a cover of a becsmadbeats mix?”
“yeah why?”
“apparently stacie and them are roommates. beca is in her latest vlog” *cough* oh my god they were roommates
it’s a really like casual video of just stacie bugging beca (which becomes a series lovingly titled Bothering Beca) but stace gets beca to talk about their mixes and stuff for a bit and emily’s like oh dang....they cute....
some time passes and over that period of time, stacie and chloe became friends because they met at vidcon and hit it off and just started talking about how much they love each others’ channels
one day chloe is like “hey emily, im taking a trip to new york, and while im there stacie and i are gonna do a couple of videos together. she said you could come too if you want!”
and emily’s like “omg yes!” so they pack their bags and fly up and stacie picks them up from the airport and when they walk in to the apartment, emily hears distinct music blasting and stacie rolls her eyes and is like “sorry thats just beca. theyre probably in the shower” to which stacie walks to the bathroom and bangs on the door and yells “HEY ASSHOLE TURN THE MUSIC DOWN WE HAVE GUESTS”
“shut UP at least im SHOWERING”
((also just like a steca brotp sidenote, stacie is very protective of beca and will correct people on their pronouns))
beca finally emerges while the rest of them are in the middle of filming and emily is like :o ! and stacie and chloe both see emily like staring at beca and they look at each other like hmmmm!!
stacie makes beca join in on the video and she’s surprised when beca agrees and is actually like ? talkative ? and fairly interactive ??
they go out to eat and while theyre out emily’s like “hey beca we should totally do something together like you could do some cool stuff with your launchpad and i have my guitar and omg it could be cool!”
and beca is like “sure dude”
chloe and stacie film another video while beca teaches emily all about her mixing stuff and bemily is talking and laughing and cute
chloe has her eyes closed so stacie can do her eye makeup and shes like “stacie what is that noise” “oh its just beca and emily pretending like theyre not flirting”
beca, from a distance: HEY!
beca trying to teach emily how something works but emily is just staring at her and becs is like “ok you got that dude?” “huh? oh ! uh, no.”
anyway when emily and chloe have to leave, emily and beca are both sad they have to separate and emily’s like “hey! you should give me your number!”
“uh ..”
“that way we can stay in contact and like, collab more or something! plus i have a bunch of song ideas that would be great for mashups if you wanted to use them!”
anyway they talk like every day after that and this is to be continued !!

emily kind of took beca by surprise
like, so much was going on and this cheery freshman bounced her way into her life and one moment they were basically strangers and the next they were recording a song together
beca at this point in her life is trying to be more honest and open with people in general and one big step in that direction was admitting she had feelings for emily
emily is in general a very open person and that sort of intimidates beca
that made beca really want to try hard to get this relationship right though
it started out kind of small
usually if beca is in a bad mood over something small she’ll grump about it but not say anything about it? and just kind of wait it out until shes over it and pretend like it never happened
but emily.
emily always wants to know how beca is doing and if she can help and beca at first does her kind of shrugging it off
but then she starts being like ‘oh this is why im pissed as hell’ because she doesnt like to upset emily and emilys like oh okay do you wanna come cuddle
emily always wants to hear about beca’s family and beca’s kind of like “hm or. we could. not talk about them”
and emily’s like “oh ... okay if thats what you want”
but beca knows emily’s a little hurt and so she tries to at least give emily SOMETHING
she’ll talk about how her dad is doing or maybe tell an old story from when she was a kid and her family was more together and emily really appreciates it
emily never pushes beca, because she knows its really hard for her but she only wants the best for her and its healthier for her to not shut everyone out
beca really appreciates how patient emily is with her and she loves her girlfriend a lot so it makes it a little easier
Ahhh sorry it took me so long to message you. But sk8er au was everything I wanted and more! I’m so damn glad read it. Beca was the most adorable and awkward gay out there. Her whole “I’m not cute, I’m a badass” speech was fantastic and also a speech I regularly make to my gf. Stacie was so damn cool. How effortlessly she came out and how chill she was about Beca being a dorky mess? Ugh I just LOVED it. Also the dress you picked out for her at that party? I think my bi ass nearly died. (1/?)
Emily was her normal self, and yet somehow extra adorable? Her asking Beca is she found goldfish warmed my little heart. I could practically see her screaming at meeting Stacie, while Beca is just trying to not stare at the “legs for days.” The amount of selfies that they took made me laugh. Especially since Emily had her eyes closed in most of them even though she was trying not to (this adorable human, I swear). I was in love with ems and becas dynamic. (2/?)
I like how they watched a movie for me and then went to go and hang outside because of Beca. Also Emily promoting the shop is such a her thing to do and I absolutely loved it. Aubrey was super cool too! I liked how she and Stacie were friends, but also she could be her normal controlling self when it counted. Plus Emily getting turned on by aggressive Aubrey? Absolutely perfect. It will forever be in my mind now that whoever Aubrey is with gets low key turned on when she’s like that (3/?)
How Aubrey and becas relationship advanced was really cool to me as well. In most things you read they just hate and suddenly like each other randomly. I liked how, in yours, they actually just tried to be friends but we’re still making judgey side comments. It felt very them and very organic. Also Aubrey becoming all shy around Emily was very cute. The fact that she called her hot because she thought Stacie was dating her was one of my favorite parts (4/?)
The sex scene? Bitch, i thought you said you could not write smut. It was perfect. The way Beca was low key jealous and how Stacie knew it on the spot. Also lmao at Stacie “taking the bait,” beca we all knew what you were doing, ya can’t hide shit. But yea, her proving that Beca was “her type” was very well written. You could like feel the tension between them and I was v impressed. Plus Jesse being with Benji? Sign me tf up for that (5/?)
All in all, very well done. The aesthetic was completely there and very compelling. Beca in a SnapBack? Ugh I think you know that’s a winner in my book. Her climbing up a set of Walmart shelves is the most stubborn Beca thing to do and so is stealing a shopping cart just because she wanted to. Tbh I have also done both of those things, so I’m not really sure what that says about me, other than that I am also short and kinda stupid and dorky. Really good job, can’t wait for the next fic! i mean, there’s so so much... i wish for stability and creativity and inspiration and positivity and determination and strength and love and hope. mainly i wish for others to remain safe, but with the state the world is in that won’t be the case for most people sadly.
