Daz is next to Galdino, because if he was next to Croco they would start making out
Daz looks so serious in every Cross Guild pic, of course, he wants to appear as THE professional first. But part of me feels like his subtle grumpiness is due to the fact, that he and Crocodile are no longer together most of the time. Like, imagine being with someone every day alone for 2 years, and then there is this whole organization stuff comes in, Daz has to oversee some things, Crocodile is with his business partners most of the time. Must be hard! Good thing their time apart pays off in the night, eheheh
Crocodile is convinced by his pirate experience that pirates steal from everybody and each other. It is kind of a thing that defines piracy (even from business perspective). So when Daz confesses that he never stole anything in his life, Crocodile half-jokingly says that Daz should steal something from him. Like a pirate baptism of sorts.
Daz is thinking about what he wants, in the end stealing something he doesn’t need would be a half-measure. So he comes back to the thought over and over again. In the end, all he desires, is a kiss. He sets his eyes on this target, trying to find the right moment. But when he will get to try?
No proper DazWani headcanons today, I offer you to imagine them walking barefoot on the beach, they don’t have anything extra to their outfits, just formal shirts and pants, no hook at Crocodiles hand. They sit down together, are looking at the horizon, maybe making out sand castles. No one else in sight, just them and a beautiful scenery.
Fem!Crocodile stays in her lingeries during sex (except for panties, of course). She likes the way it looks, but the main reason why her bra and stockings stay on is her being slightly insecure about how her body looks at the age she is now compared to her younger self.
Fem!Daz suspects that her Madame has such thoughts, after all, Fem!Daz herself too tries to conceal her massive scar under the bustier, a mark she feels makes her look weak.
But they are both trying their best to make each other feel beautiful, regardless of what marks or imperfection their bodies have. After all, they both genuinely look at each other with shameless admiration!
Despite having a pretty tough life, Daz still has this genuine curiosity about the world. Especially coming into the New World, for him it feels so refreshing, so full of adventure. And still, even in this chapter of his life, there are more grounded things he is interested in. Government affairs, underground world, strange creatures - is all fascinating, but it all is tossed aside in his mind when he looks at Crocodile.
How do logias work? No, how they feel?
Daz has been staring mindlessly at his boss for some time now, long enough for him to notice and ask for the reason. Daz is not able to lie, so he honestly says, that he was thinking about how does that feel to be an element itself.
Crocodile chuckles at the question, but asks Daz to come closer and extends his right hand. Responding to such unexpected invitation, Daz gently touches the arm, which gradually turns into sand. Crocodile says that it feels like moving something in synch, the sensation is the same as moving fingers in a pattern. Daz presses his fingers a bit deeper, sand is warm, soft, dry, and then he feels as if it is pulsing, faintly, but still. The life flows through the sand in waves. Daz wants to feel more of it, he thinks that it is too greedy. He pulls his hand away from it, watching how it takes a shape again. Daz wonders, what would happened if it got wet in the moment? Would sand remain as it is for sometime or hand will morph into itself damaged? Can hand dissolve if kissed? Daz tries to get ahold of his train of thoughts, afraid that they might push him to action. Luckily, Crocodile stands up to investigate suddenly appeared ship on the horizon. Daz goes after him, deep inside he wants curiosity to get ahold of him fully, just ones.
For Daz, being defeated by Mihawk was an embarrassment, he wasn’t able to hold him off for more than a few seconds and all this while Crocodile was watching. Even though he lost to Zoro before that, at least this defeat was not in front of his boss AND didnt leave any visible marks.
Now, there is a big, neat scar on his body. Crossing his 壱 tattoo, as if he is not worthy of being THE one. Daz tries to not show his emotions on the topic, trying to conceal them with the thoughts of how now he just needs to prove that his defeat does not defy him. But it is hard.
Crocodile feels the uneasiness in the air when they go to buy clothes at the local store. He knows the feeling of coping with having to live with the permanent reminder of failure on the body. Daz emerges from the dressing room in a formal costume, covering him fully. Crocodile knows exactly what to say. But for now, the only thing he can offer is to help with the tie.
I imagine, before Daz became an assassin for hire and was young, he was living in his town or village in West Blue, he was set on being a hero for his people. But time and time again he was overpowered by whatever threat was there or was always simply discouraged/punished for acting up. I envision something like a gang being in charge of his birthplace (kinda like Nami situation). And he is, perhaps, oblivious to the fact that Warlords are even a thing.
And someday, Crocodile comes to rescue and Daz is skeptical. He assist the Warlord with the liberation, but is being a brat in a process, since he doesn’t know Crocodile or who he is exactly. And I doubt that Croc would be doing any explaining. So that is where the whole “アンタ“ thing starts and ties in with the their second meeting in Alabasta after many years of not seeing each other.
Also, perhaps, Daz was asking Crocodile to take him with. And Crocodile promised him to do that ones he is in need of his presence (maybe, that is also where the whole number agent idea sparks from, like, well, if I am going to hire anybody, you would be the FIRST)
