Episode # 2022-04, Shooting. My version of popular Ukrainian meme.
Well, I have something new to say.
On February 23 of this year, one of our alters, after watching the news, said «today is the last day of peace.» And he was frighteningly right.
For many years, Russia has been on its way to full authoritarianism. These days, the regime has completely transformed into a dictatorial one. All those things in Orwell's novel «1984» that seemed absurd to us are actual in the country right now.
On TV (totally controlled by the government), they say there are Nazis in Ukraine. At the same time, among the troops fighting on behalf of the Russian Federation, we see people with Nazi tattoos and patches. Until February 24, 2022, I would say it's some kind of nonsense, but now, I know it's really happening.
I've never wanted to live in such an environment, and I don't wish it on anyone. I have a Ukrainian friend, and in a chat with him, I said enough to get a criminal sentence. I wrote enough on my Russian social media to go to prison for 15 years. However, my position will remain unchanged.
Murder is unacceptable.
Looting is unacceptable.
Rape is unacceptable.
War is unacceptable.
The country that started it is guilty.
My friends invited me to their countries. I'm grateful to them for it, but I'll most likely stay here. Firstly, it's difficult to cross the border because of the sanctions and my low financial situation.
Secondly, someone has to stay here. When the current regime will fall (and it certainly will), someone will have to rebuild the country and teach children what goodness, love, mutual understanding, and support are. Someone has to teach them humanity. Someone will have to save the culture — the real culture of Russia, not what you see in your news feeds now.
Someone has to stay and be the witness.
Thank you for your attention.

Resurrection Poem
If you heard this or had it read over you at 2022 WAR, now you know who wrote it! The numbers at the end of each line are the total syllable count. Feel free to use, just don’t claim you wrote it and let me know if you got any feedback :) I’m probably going to keep using this whenever I need a healing poem, I really like it.
