I need to buy linen to make new garb. Anyone have any leads on sales and deals? Cause I'm gonna need a lot of it.

Of course if we are going off to war we have to be nice and shiny.. How else are we supposed to dazzle the enemy?

Since War of the Wings is an anniversary for so many people (First event, Squiring, Joining Household, etc.) I decided to bake my pumpkin bread into a cake rather than a loaf. This has nothing to do with the fact that I didn’t have enough loaf pans, but did have a spare cake pan.

War prep comes in many forms. No army marches on an empty stomach, or without pumpkin bread!

sewing fairies

You guys, I met an honest to goodness sewing fairy yesterday. One of our Shire members came to our war sewing prep and she didn’t have any fabric to make stuff for herself SO SHE CUT OUT MY TUNIC AND HAS BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR ME SINCE I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO. She has even added a decorative stitch around the collar to match the red ribbon I am adding on the sleeves. I have the best Shire family, I just.... I love them all so much.

And thanks to her amazingness my list of garb to make now looks like:

Fight coat for Squiring

Yellow Tunic

Black Sideless Surcoat

Black Archer Tunic

Blue Fight Tunic

Chemise

10 Gore Dress

Paisley Kirtle

We also got a donation of some nice garb from someone who doesn’t play any more, and so now my Ward has her own garb because she was almost the same size. We can work on making her some custom stuff this winter.

And don’t get me started on the tables and chairs for camp that my Knight spontaneously threw on us at the Camp meeting. Thank goodness we have industrious, experienced people in the Household or I would be shaking my finger at him.
