u know the "never got the mark" post? is it legal to ask all of them at once or..? i just want to know more about him im trash
ur lucky i love u <3
doing them under the cut tho
1. If not for the Conclave, what would drive your character to join the Inquisition?
It would be to protect his clan. The Breach would eventually effect them too, along with red templars and such. The other elves in his clan are the most important to him. Even thought he doesn’t want to leave his people, he knows that -if he wants to keep them safe- he has to.
2. How would they meet the Inquisitor?
Camris left his clan to find the Inquisition. Though, on his travels, he came across another clan being ambushed by demons. He stood by them, fighting them while making sure the elves who couldn’t fight stayed out of harm. The Inquisitor and co. found him and was able to help in the fight. Camris told them that he wants to join.
3. What would some of their cutscenes look like?
His first cut scene would be in Haven, and it would cut to him arguing with Solas about the Dalish. It would end with something like Camris saying, “You know nothing of the Dalish!” before storming off past the Inquisitor. Said Inquisitor follows Camris, who turns to them and says, “You would think other elves wouldn’t get angry about you talking about the Dalish.”
And if he was taken to the Fade in “Here Lies The Abyss”, his cut scene would be him asking the Inquisitor why he brought him, why he had to see all of that. He was terrified. Though, he doesn’t lose any respect for the Inquisitor, if anything he gained it.
And the cut scene that introduces his personal quest is him reading a letter. When the Inquisitor asks about it, Camris says that it’s from his sister, that she found where he is and wants to meet him somewhere. Camris begs the Inquisitor to come along with him. At the Tavern they meet at, his sister presses on to know why Camris never wrote to any of them. She asks if Camris has forgotten where he comes from, forgotten his clan, furthering his fear of failing his Clan. After the meeting, the Inquisitor goes to see if Camris is okay.
4. What would their romance route look like? Would they be romancable?
He would definitely be romancable. He would fall for anyone (human, elf, qunari, dwarf), but he is a bit biased towards elves. Tbh I feel like he could also be rival-romanced for a while but after a bit he’d break it off, saying he wants someone who respects him. To really gain his approval, helping out elves and openly listening him talk about the Dalish is the way to go. He’s very fond of the Dalish and doesn’t like being disregarded. If the Inquisitor was flirting with him a lot before “In Your Heart Shall Burn”, he would initiate a kiss once they got to Skyhold. If not, and the romance options were really started after, the kiss would be after his personal quest.
(If not romanced by the Inquisitor, he ends up with Dorian. The Inquisitor would be able to ask about this and if Dorian’s Tevinter origins causes any stress.)
5. If they romanced someone as Inquisitor, would they still fall for that person as a companion? How would that play out? How would they react to that person being romanced by the “new” Inquisitor?
Camris would still fall for Dorian. Their side conversations in the party would at first be a bit tense (”You had elven slaves, didn’t you.” “I don’t see why that matters to you.” “I’m elven and you’re Tevinter, of course it does.”). But through out more side conversations, it would be found out that the two have worked things out and a relationship is starting between the two of them. And through side conversations with other companions, it would be found out that Camris -despite being wary of Dorian- was always interested in him.
If Dorian was romanced by the new Inquisitor, Camris would be jealous. The next time the Inquisitor spoke to him, they would get a short reply and not really be able to talk to him. Only after another attempt or two would the Inquisitor be able to ask what’s wrong. Depending on what dialogue choices, Camris either approves or greatly disapproves.
6. Write some of their party banter (in reaction to major events, scenery dialogue, or just shitting around. Askers can specify for which character/event, or leave it up to the writer).
Camris (after being revived from falling in battle): Well, that was unfortunate.
Camris: So, what happened to the elf in your Tale of the Champion?Varric: Who, Fenris? All I know is that he went with Hawke and-Camris: No, the other one. Merrill, I think.Varric: Oh you’re talking about Daisy! She’s out helping elves. You… you would have liked her.
Cassandra: I saw you talking to Josephine earlier.Camris: So you’re spying on me now?Varric (if in party): She does tend to do that.Cassandra: No I wasn’t just… are you two…?Camris: She’s not really my type. But she is one of my closest friends here.
7. What would be on their tombstone in the fade (what is their greatest fear)?
Ma banal las halamshir var vhen. (It’s Dalish for “You do nothing to further our people”)
8. What kind of Inquisitor would drive them to leave the Inquisition/confront them about their actions (what gets their approval low? what does that scene look like)?
If the Inquisitor constantly disrespects Elven culture and sides against the elves constantly. First, Camris will confront them, angry and annoyed. He says something like, “You chose to fight for the people who need help, you fight to change the world. And yet you do shit for my people!” If the Inquisitor keeps using aggressive options and then tries to apologize, Camris says “You’ll have to do better than that to even get the chance of gaining my respect back”. If the Inquisitor uses more diplomatic options, Camris says “I… might forgive you.” If the Inquisitor is just aggressive with no apologies, Camris threatens to leave.
9. Where in Skyhold would they be found? (e.g. Cole is in the tavern rafters, Leliana in the top of the tower, Varric in the throne room, etc.)
He would be found in the garden.
10. If Inquisition operated like DA:O, what would their gift items be? What would their approval and disapproval Feast Day items be?
(idk what “feast day” is so im gonna skip that part)
His two main plot gifts would be a wooden halla statue, similar to the one he had as a child, and a Dalish staff.
11. How would they grow as a person? How would they compare at the end of the Inquisition as a companion to who they were as the Inquisitor?
In the beginning, he goes in to the Inquisition just having loyalty to the Inquisitor, and the main reason be protecting his clan. Though, throughout travelling with the Inquisitor, he realizes that they are all making a change and that everything they’re doing is more than just helping a select group of people. And he realizes that he has found a friend in nearly everyone in the Inquisition.
12. Do they believe the Herald of Andraste is really the Herald of Andraste?
He’s Dalish, so he doesn’t know. Whenever the question is pressed on him, he dodges around the questions.
13. If the Herald didn’t have them tag along to prep the trebuchets, what would they do during the battle for Haven? (bonus: would they join in on the impromptu Dawn Will Come choir practice in the camp?)
He would help getting people into the Chantry. He would want to save everyone he could. And he wouldn’t join in, but it would be seen that his expression when from one of hardness, stress, to calmness.
14. What nickname does Varric give them?
“Ginger” probably.
15. Without the influence of their decisions for the Inquisition, which of the companions do they get along with? Which ones do they bicker with?
He gets along with Josephine, Bull, Dorian, Varric, and Cassandra the most. He bickers with Sera and Solas.
16. What would the Fear Demon say to them in the Fade to try and discourage them?
“If only you were actually useful to your clan” he was always scared that he was never enough to his clan.
17. Where do they hang out in the Winter Palace? What’s their thoughts on the nobles/The Game?
Camris stays in the garden and he is completely interested in and fascinated by The Game. He hates all the nobles and their comments about him being Dalish.
18. What’s their reaction to a dragon showing up?
“Inquisitor if that thing flies over here, I’m running away.”
19. Once Corypheus is beaten, what do they do during the party? Do they stay with the Inquisition, or go somewhere else? What could the Inquisitor do to convince them to stay?
He would stay for a little bit but eventually go and try to find his clan, or try to help other Dalish. It would be inevitable, but he would definitely try to find the Inquisitor again if they were friends.
20. How do they react to learning abominations can retain their consciousness and identity, and even live peacefully with their spirits/demons, as seen in Stone-Bear Hold?
Camris would honestly think that’s great but also be a bit wary.
21. What do they think of the discoveries made in the Deep Roads? Do they make any comments on anything?
[skipping]
22. If you have another Inquisitor, how would those two get along, specifically?
Well, funnily enough, my first Inquisitor was Adaranni, who I never continued with because I didn’t like where I was going with her file. And now I headcanon that she is his older sister. With that way, they get along great, really. They bicker and argue but are really close.
23. In trespasser, what “gift” would they give the Inquisitor, if any?
[skipping]
24. What are their plans for after the Exalted Council? Will the Inquisition staying in tact or being disbanded make a difference?
[skipping]
25. In the alternate reality, if they were corrupted with lyrium, how do they act? What’s their attitude about the end of the world/their inevitable death?
If Camris was corrupted with lyrium, he would be scared, honestly. He doesn’t want to die, doesn’t want everything to end with him like this.
no but tell me about camris... what are his fears? why/how did he fall for dorian?? what would he wear in a modern au??? would he have any tattooes???? in a soulmate au (the one where you have the first thing your soulmate tells you tattoed on you) what sentence would he have / what would be his first conversation with his soulmate? i needz ze answers
!!! my dalish son
camris fears spiders and the undead (and he won’t say he fears dragons, he just respects them enough to stay far away from them. very far away from them.). but he also fears being a failure because he has all this weight on his shoulders from the inquisition and everyone’s eyes are always on him, watching his every move. he doesn’t want to be a disappointment or have anyone think that he can’t save them all. because, hell, he barely thinks he can sometimes. but others can’t know that.
(also random tidbit but when he found out his mark wasn’t from Andraste, he was disappointed. not in the sense of “oh no Andraste didn’t bless me :(” but more like “the fact that i could have been sent by Andraste was the only reason most people cared about me for a long while and was the reason everyone listened to me. oh no.”)
when he first saw dorian he was like “oh no he’s hot” but then he was like “oh no he’s tevinter” because of course he has heard about what happens in tevinter. but dorian began to grow on him when he told him that he didn’t like tevinter that way, with the blood magic and slaves and such. after that, he fell pretty quickly for him. it was embarrassing.
in a modern au he would honestly wear a lot of tshirts and jeans and tbh he would be one of those people who never wears shoes. like sometimes socks. but rarely every shoes. also the occasional sweater.
he has the tattoos on the right !!! and they extend down his chest/torso and back and tbh they dip down to his groin. they’re really just sweeping lines, nothing really extravagant. tho tbh he’d consider getting the inquisition symbol on the back of his neck.
well, in canon it would be: “good, you’re finally here! now help me close this, would you?”
