Sitting down on a bench, she looked around at all the people passing and quietly nibbled on the Har Gow she had bought. Things had gone back to normal again, but she couldn’t help but wonder how long that would last. She hoped it would be long enough for her to get her footing back, at least.
In the midst of her thinking and eating, she hadn’t even noticed that someone had sat down next to her. It took a few moments to register their presence. “Mmm…?” Swallowing a mouthful of food, she slowly turned her head over, almost gasping when she instantly recognized their face.
“Maya!? Is that really you!? Oh gosh! It’s felt like forever since I’ve last saw you!! You were brought here too??” She sat down her food and took Maya’s hands with a wide grin. Her heart was bouncing with so much happiness at the sight of another familiar face. It was almost enough to make her tear up a little. “You have no idea how happy I am right now to see you!!”
Sure they hadn’t interacted too much, but Maya was still a friend and a much welcomed face in the midst of the chaos that was this city. Any bit of familiarity was like a breath of fresh air at this point.
Maya took a seat on a bench, a steaming meat bun in hand. She’s been walking around the city looking for more deals on any sort of sound setup. Amps, speakers, mics, even cables, she’ll take it all. But it’s been very tiring, so she wanted to take a break.
She didn’t even notice that there was someone else sitting with her until she heard her name. And suddenly, her hands, half meat-bun and all, are covered by smaller hands.
「A-Ah! Tsurumaki-san!」 Kokoro is here as well?! No way!
Well, it should be kind of obvious, since she’s already met quite a few of her friends here, but she had no idea! Kaoru never mentioned that she was here! They were kind of occupied with a lot of other problems but...
「He... huhehe, yeah, it’s just me...」 She looks down, embarrassed. She didn’t expect Kokoro to be so overjoyed to see her. She’s nothing special! And they didn’t talk much outside of the odd band meeting.
「I just got here, actually, so it hasn’t been that long for me... how long have you been here, Tsurumaki-san?」
