Lore Day Thoughts 12/4
Sam pov of Prison arc finale. Sam did his stream today unlike everyone else who’s streams were the 28th. Will also be mentioning Antfrost lore details from Antfrost’s lore stream that was directly after Sam’s.
So Sam is being overcome by the prison.
Sam gave Ant the 28th off, and Ant took a week off, explaining why Ant wasn’t there, and leading Ant to be very confused.
We see Sam taking Michael and he had a map to Michaels location, but we still don’t know how he got it.
We see Sam arresting Ranboo, the day of his arrest was off I think though. We aren't given a backstory to the reason why Sam arrested him though. Then in Ant’s stream Sam shows no remorse for his actions and feels it was completely justified. He thinks his actions make sense and won’t even try to see it from another perspective or listen to anyone. We can only assume that Sam found out about Ranboo’s involvement with Dream, and the possibility that Ranboo was the one that sent the tnt off when the prison was compromised. On the big lore day it seemed that Sam didn’t care about Ranboo, but from Ant’s stream which takes place a week later, he still shows no remorse and it is quite sad. Sam even knows that Ranboo lost all his cannon lives now and still doesn’t feel sorry.
We see Sam’s pov from the prison break, him and Bad bts. We can see slightly Sam being harsh with Bad, but it was a stressful situation so it seemed understandable.
I really enjoyed seeing him go Las Nevadas and informing Quackity and Foolish. Him having to come clean to them that he lied to them and the fact that Dream hadn’t actually escaped earlier. Fundy then walks in and the Las Nevadas crew gets ready for battle, leading to their strange appearance in the background in the prison break streams.
Sam does not show the full details of the prison break stream, it ends directly after he kills Ranboo, not showing his conversation with Sapnap, or with Bommer, or what he went to see after his convo with Sapnap.
Sam’s stream ends with him talking to Bad about how he is going to stay in the prison and continue watching Dream’s cell incase Dream didn’t set a new respawn. Bad tells him it’s no use and really a waste of time. Sam eventually agrees and shuts the prison down, going to his island (where he is keeping Michael). Sam talks about his failure, and that maybe Dream was destined to escape, and that the prison was only delaying the inevitable. That maybe Dream getting free, can really be seen as Sam getting free from the prison and his role as the warden. Sam questions himself if he enjoyed being the warden or not, and he seems unsure.
Then in Ant’s stream he and Bad are talking about how Sam is not taking responsibility for his actions, as Warden it is majority his fault, and it isn’t right for him to be yelling and Blaming them. Sam is getting really mad at them, and won’t even listen. They go to talk to him and he blatantly lies to them about Quackity visiting and torturing Dream, or about Sam refusing to feed Dream. He won’t answer their questions, especially about Ranboo. They talk about being kept in the dark, and how they think Sam picked them as guards because they were friends, and he knew they wouldn’t question him.
They both quit as guards, but Sam says they were already fired, the prison is done, the poisoner is gone.
They agree that Sam is loosing himself to the prison, that this isn’t good for the Badlands. That he doesn’t care about anything else. That at least they have each other, even if they don’t have Sam.
Bad also is drinking a lot due to his sadness, he says it’s apple juice, but everyone else, and his behavior, suggests it’s alcohol. Sam was rude to Bad, and Bad partially blames himself for Dream escaping, and Ranboo’s death. Bad explains he heard Dream getting potentially tortured, heard his screams, how Dream was always shaky, and so he didn’t want to fight Dream during the break. He recognizes Dream did bad stuff, but he still doesn’t want to hurt Dream after what Dream has been going through. Bad and Ant also mentioning sneaking snacks to Dream.
