Hey! I was wondering if you would be interested in working with me on a FNAF project. Since it's been about 1 year since the first game was released we should definitely try to celebrate and thank Scott for creating such amazing games! I was thinking that what if we did a fanmade video which is entirely made of people thanking him for working hard and making the games, saying what they love about the games, saying how Scott has inspired them etc etc? Do you think you would be interested?

I am indeed interested, but I’m not willing to give up my identity completely, so the best I could do is draw for your video. :c

This fandom is on the Magic School Bus to hell at this rate

The sad reality of it all is, why does this have to be considered a ‘fandom’?

I have always viewed a fandom as something to be in for fictional shows (ie insert popular television series here, insert random anime here, insert movie here). A fandom for those sources of fictional entertainment, where you can discuss your favorite characters, episodes, what have you, are ways to distract ourselves from the reality of the world, the negativity.

However I have had a hard time blurring the line when it comes to the markiplier community. ‘Markiplier’, is a trademark created by a real man, but he is the trademark. ‘Markiplier’ is not a fictional character, he is a real, living, breathing, feeling, man. Referring to this community as a ‘fandom’ has personally made me uncomfortable from day one. Mark is his own man, nobody owns him, nobody created him, so fandom? 

I know it’s conventional, calling a massive group of people who enjoy his work a ‘fanbase’, but have we not passed the point where it is more than that? Of course, we can’t say we’re his ‘friends’, or his immediate ‘family’, but it just feels wrong to say ‘I am in a fandom for markiplier’. Mark has a ‘community’, who cares about his well being, who wishes nothing but the best for his future, who wants nothing more than for him to be happy, so ‘fandom’ just feels… impersonal.

I’m rambling, but there is a point I am trying to make here which is, there should be some level of respect, when it comes down to Mark, and all I have seen lately is alarming levels of entitlement, ownership, and blurring lines between what is alright to do, and what is not. 

How many of you actually give a hoot about Mark’s feelings? How many of you actually give a hoot about anyone’s feelings who is not a fictional character when it comes to someone that is deemed ‘famous’?

I apologize if I come off as cold or as if I am talking down on anyone, but this has gotten out of control, and I just can’t stay silent.

Yup. We have a warning in my area and the last huge storm we had in 2013 (ice storm) took down trees and branches on every block in town. So I don’t doubt it.

No not at all I just already have plans to go and stuff. Like I have a ticket I preordered and a room and stuff.  And I have plans to meet friends there that I NEVER get to see cause they’re coming from far away.. So its nice.. I just.. Financial struggles and trying to get cosplays done is stressing me out.
